I couldn't imagine Noll or Cowher purposely tripping an opponent.

Or anyone that was on his staff doing that either. Can you imagine how fast that guy wouldn't have a job?

Good point.

Serious question... Does firing Porter mean that Butler is safe? I sure hope not. But looking at last year they fired Lake & moved Mitchell off the D-line. Seems like Butler is running out of scapegoats.

Would you be in favor of demoting Keith Butler back to LBs coach? Or just washing their hands of him altogether? I doubt it would happen since that would be such a shameful move for Butler.

I think Butler needs to go as well as Bradley. We need a new Special Teams Coach as well. But demoting him to OLB coach might light a fire up under his ass to do better.

New Updated Mock Drafts:

CBS Sports and Sporting News now have us taking...

Byron Murphy
, CB, Washington. Murphy is only a redshirt sophomore, but he's ready for the NFL. Even at under 6-0 and 180-190 pounds, Murphy plays with a high level of aggression and awareness, and he's incredibly twitchy. He's the type of impact player Pittsburgh needs in its secondary. The Steelers must find another capable cornerback to play alongside Joe Haden if the defense is going to take the next step. Murphy is a smart player capable of handling man-to-man or zone coverage, and his anticipation on routes should have him on the highlight reels often as he chases pick-sixes. Once teams get a good look at him, we could see him jump well beyond this spot in the first round.

For the Win (USA Today) as us drafting Cody Ford, OT from Oklahoma.

This might be a draft where we want to trade up for a better spot.

@Psych-Ward wanna have some fun?
The standard can LOOK the same when you walk into the stadium, but it certainly doesn't feel the same or look the same when they are on the field. The standard shouldn't be just the history of the team, it should be a state of mind as well and from their play on the field and the antics off the field, I don't see that standard being alive and well. Can you imagine Kordell Stewart, Jerome Bettis or Hines Ward acting the way Bell, Ben and AB have the last two years? Hell no. How about Bradshaw, Stallworth, Greene? Fuck no. THAT's the championship culture that we DO NOT have right now. Yes, there's still 6 Super Bowl trophies in the building, but the trophies shouldn't be the only thing that shows a championship culture. The championship culture also has to be a state of mind that the coaches coach with and the players play with.

It's really not just this year. It's been the last 2-3 years. Overlooking the Jags and looking forward to a rematch with the Patriots. The James Harrison fiasco. The Le'Veon Bell Fiasco. On the field tantrums by AB. Stupid sarcastic comments to the press by Ben. That isn't a championship culture to me. That's a childish culture and if it continues, we're gonna be on the stairway to 7 for a LOOONG time.

At the end of the day, I'm a fan of the Steelers. No matter what. But that doesn't mean that if something doesn't change, I fan a little less and less. I will always rock my gear, go to games, buy more gear. But the way the franchise is going, I might be doing that a little less because I don't agree with the direction the team is going in. There's nothing wrong with that.
wait u do know under knoll a guy shot at a plane and was kept, because he was good. guys failed drug tests and were covered up, because they were good. Cowher dealt with and let plaxico go because he was good. People fail to remember the bad with those coaches

Because we could get a better CB prospect? What other reason is there for trading up in the draft. Had we traded up last year, we could've gotten Derwin James who is an All Pro in his rookie year. 3 INTs, 3.5 sacks and over 100 tackles. Derwin James was a highly talked about prospect that went 17th off the board. Sometimes, to get good talent, you gotta step out of your comfort zone and our comfort zone has been staying put in the draft.

The last time this team went through huge offseason changes was after the 2009 season. Coincidentally, that's the last time we had a winning record and missed the playoffs. During the offseason, we fired the O-line coach, Special Teams coordinator and our QB coach retired all in the same day. Spanos left to go to Washington and we also got a different pro scout due to Whaley leaving to be the AGM of Buffalo. What happened? We went to the Super Bowl. We've gone through change before and we've succeeded afterwards. We can do it again and we are arguably more talented now than we were 9 years ago.

yes and we lose capital in the process, we could trade to one and get bosa, but sacrifice all other picks. You can always TRY to trade up, tons of teams TRY trades aalways fal through. BUt u sacrifice something in doing that......hence why it doesnt happen as often as u think

Lose all capital? If anything, we'd lose 2 extra picks. If the talent is worth it, why not make that trade? Looking at the seasons both Edmunds and James has had, would you not make the leap to get him.

We would've probably had to give up at least our 1st plus a 3rd and 5th. Which would've meant we would pass on Edmunds, but get a much better talent in James, and either pass on Mason or Okorafor and Samuels or Allen.

Last year, Buffalo went from 22nd to 16th by also giving a 3rd and they also got a 5th back. I'd make that trade. If we can find a partner and the price is right, why not? We haven't traded up since 2006 and in that time frame (12 years), 5 of our first round picks have made a Pro Bowl and I'd say only 5 first round picks have really panned out for us. Watt, Shazier, DeCastro, Heyward and Pouncey. 5 out of 12. That's not good and we either aren't scouting talent very well or we just have bad luck. Last 2 times we traded up, it was for Santonio Holes and some guy named Troy Polamalu. Both worked out, I'd say.

This guy just talks himself in circles to make things more pleasing to his warped way of thinking.
He doesn't research anything and just pulls things out of his ass and argues it to be fact. Hurting the Rooney's in their wallet for starters. Getting his pen pals to stop buying Steelers jerseys.....yep, that will bankrupt the Steelers....

He's like a dog chasing his tail, it's funny to watch but after the dog has taken the lamp out twice and cleared everything off the coffee table stumbling around to catch his own ass.....you gotta grab a newspaper and beat the shit out of the dog to get him to settle down......This is his M.O......This is how he's operated on these boards for 2 seasons now.

You telling me to relax is hilarious lol

It's only time to relax if there are changes made. It all rides on that. No changes made, how's anything gonna be different?

so you think its not gonna cost an extra high pick to move up, or next years first, and possibly a 3rd........you think its just that easy to move up? like every team wants to trade? you need to find a partner, and give them what they want. if only we had cowher back drafting. he would move up and pick the right guys every time. Just because buffalo made one trade in the mid 20's for a low budget, doesnt mean they all are like that, and that they are available
