Adding bowls dos not increase quality bowl games. And if anything would only slightly increase OOC. The current overloaded 6 win bowl games decrease OOC. I do agree their should be a stronger criteria for Bowl eligibility. Far too many teams soften their schedules just to pad wins and obtain bowl eligibility.No. They need to require a P5 team to have beaten 5 P5 teams in
the season to be bowl eligible. That is the only thing that will lead
to better OOC scheduling.
To be Bowl Eligible this year, under that rule...Auburn would have
to beat Alabama, or they stay home.
I want to watch the "game"...not the "teams." I want to watch
good football being played. I can't get that with 6-6 P5 teams
loaded with rosters of underachieving thugs.
The play off selection system also promotes softer OOC schedules by nature. And will only continue to add to more meaningless OOC's by the presidents that have been set. If we want a true champion and stronger OOC schedules. This is the best format I've seen to promote both. Its thorough right down to fail safes and elevating regular season scheduling standards
6 team playoff with 5 autobids CC and 1 WC but there are some rules.
1.Every P5 team plays 10 P5 games and 2 patsy G5/FCS games. The committee can only use P5 games to evaluate a team.
2. If you have more than 2 losses and win your conference you lose your autobid. That spot becomes an extra WC spot.
