BULLSHIT

I UNDERSTAND THAT IS NOT FULL VALUE

What I do understand - is that is most likely the best offer that the Spurs can get. They can't get full value - getting full value does not happen that often. Just not going to happen for the Spurs

Brandon Ingram is not even close to the best offer the Spurs will get. That is why people are laughing at you.

Pau won 2 titles as a support player. Kawhi won 1 with a Finals MVP to go with it. He has also significantly improved his game since the 2014 title. And, Pau upped his game significantly after arriving in LA. You are trying to use him as an example of a superstar trade, except Pau wasn't a superstar. Not even close. He was barely an allstar caliber player when he was dealt.

Well If you acknowledge the fact that neither one knows - you need to stop saying it won't be enough - I actually agree, however that it is most likely isn't enough and that's the reason I would be inclined to wait one more year on trades. If the Lakers can sign younger free agents who are not wanting a TEAM READY TO GO THE FINALS RIGHT NOW, I think that would be the best approach because sooner or Later the Warriors will lose some key players and be vulnerable. Build your team and be patient - And that is what Kobe Bryant told Pelinka last month - One of the brightest minds in basketball agrees that the Lakers should be patient. How about that?

Basketball IQ is far different than knowing how to structure a team and manage the cap. The two aren't even close to comparable. Kobe may be a smart basketball player, doesn't mean he knows how to be a president/GM of a team. How about that?

The Spurs could do better than and 1-for-1 trade of Ingram and Kawhi. And again, the CBA dictates that salaries have to match up. So even in your far fetched scenario, it would never happen because Kawhi makes substantially more than Ingram does.

Well, actually the Lakers could do that because they are under the cap. So the salaries don't have to match.

But, the SPurs sure as hell wouldn't do that.

Kawhi is the most high profile player that the league has seen that's about to get traded. @trojanfan12 brought up Shaq, but he was on the downturn of his career. Kawhi's easily a top 5 player in the league, and the best two-way player without a doubt. TLF thinking that Ingram's enough to trade for Kawhi is beyond borderline retarded - it's medically induced coma shitting yourself retarded.

Fair enough. But in your latter point, we know full well that the Spurs aren't going to make facilitating this trade easy for the Lakers - or any other team for that matter.

Don't know that either - I'm just saying that anything can happen and in spite of what it appears - the games still have to be played. Everyone thought the Lakers were guaranteed a championship with Gary Payton and Karl Malone - and they got their asses kicked

You need to pump the breaks & just wait until all the changes happen. You're still trying to look into a crystal ball & see the future or something by saying anything can happen. We all know that. Once all the pieces are in place then start talking about what could happen.

NO I'm not - I already know nothing is guaranteed - I am one of the few Lakers fans that told the rest of them 4 years ago that Jim Buss' time line of relevancy in three years was totally unrealistic. That's partly why I am not a fan of the LeBron to the Lakers idea - LeBron and Paul George both are looking for a team that will take them to the finals immediately. I don't believe the Lakers are ready quite yet. I think the Lakers will need another two years in developing their core of young players and signing agents that have more time on their clocks.

Miami, however did build in one years and went to the finals, so while it is possible - I am not a fan of that route. I would rather see the Lakers follow the Warriors route - or the Spurs which built and maintained in the top five teams for almost 13 years for the most part. Miami was there and gone quickly when the players were gone - but I am sure it was well worth it. Their young players weren't enough to maintain titles

Yeah, I will admit that Ingram alone won't be enough - but I don't think the Lakers can afford to give up If he was available for sign and trade - Randle, Kuzma, Ingram and draft picks - you can't give them everything for just one player. That would be pretty stupid - but it's totally unrealistic and retarded on your part to believe that the Spurs can get full value for Leonard. They are going to lose out in any trade - Especially with Leonard's injury and forcing the trade. This is like a shot gun wedding -

You literally started this whole debate off stating that Ingram and Kawhi could be traded for each other and that it'd be equal and good value - this is why everyone considers your argument a fucking joke.

Also, when did I ever say they were going to get equal value for Kawhi? I just said that the Spurs could get better offers and that the Lakers weren't the best ones potentially available. Those are two completely different things.

The Warriors hit on every single draft pick for a 4-year period. They also got lucky that Curry had ankle injuries that allowed them to sign Curry to an extension where he eventually more than outplayed his contract value; which subsequently allowed them to add Durant. Their likely will never be another Warriors team again, and if there is, it will be a very long time.

The Spurs have had the most success in the last 20-22 years. That success has been mainly predicated around Tim Duncan.

Not all teams are built equally in the same manner. Doesn't matter how you get your titles, as long as you get them. I dislike Lebron, but in an (unrealistic possibility) scenario that Miami could trade for Kawhi and lure Lebron in free agency that resulted in one title over the next 4 years, I'd gladly take it - despite how I feel about Lebron.

They signed some players along the way and made a few trades - 100% of that did not come from the draft - It normally takes all of that to get the championship team.

Where did I say 100% of the team came from the draft? Their core pieces (Dray, Klay, Curry) came from the draft. They traded for Iggy and signed Barbosa and Livingston. The latter of which were supporting pieces. You want to go the route of the Warriors - the heart of the Warriors is their star players - which every single star they hit on in the draft. And situational circumstances allowed Steph to be signed at a deal that allowed the Warriors to later on add Durant because Curry was on a team friendly deal because of his ankle injuries.

No. Shit. As I said before, they hit on their draft picks in a 4-year time frame. Each one is an all star.

I understand that - but what all you are IGNORING is that these kind of trades HAPPEN EVERY YEAR. NO TEAM ever gets the full value of a star player being traded away and the best that the Spurs can HOPE FOR

2 things:

1. Why are you yelling? lol

2. There is a big difference between not getting full value and getting absolutely fleeced. I love Ingram and I think he has a great future in the league. But right now? This moment in each players career...

If the Lakers manage to get Kawhi for Ingram straight up, then Magic and Pelinka should be jailed for grand larceny and whoever signed off on it in San Antonio should be jailed for felony stupidity.

Ingram and Kuzma plus a cuntload of picks might possibly do it if Kawhi says he won't sign with anybody but the Lakers in a years time.

Teams like Philly and Boston aren't trading some of their young talent for a guy who's determined to be in LA in that case.

I am okay with San Antonio getting jailed:lol:, but I did modify my trade to Ingram, Kuzma and perhaps one pick. I am thinking that the Lakers might need to throw in Josh Hart or someone

Either way - we both know Popovich will not be willing to deal with the Lakers - but according to Lakersnation - the Spurs are intrigued by Ingram, Kuzma and pics - but do not want Lonzo Ball - Can you believe that they think there is too much of a circus in having to deal with him?

Those are the three players in the starting line up that were drafted by the Warriors

Iguodala - was drafted by Philadelpha
McGee - was drafted by Cleveland
Durant was drafted by Oklahoma
Livingston was drafted by the Clippers
Knick Young was a loser that played for the Lakers, but I don't think he was drafted by the Lakers - he came in a trade
Zaza Came from Cleveland
David West - from Cleveland

Who else did you have in Mind? I don't doubt that there was fourth - but
looks like he is gone if that is the case
