I know it has been debated a lot lately, but

I just don't trust this organizations judgement anymore.

Management has made 2 terrible decisions this year and they've literally been bailed out by injuries.

Colon was the odd man out at the start of the season and we very well could've lost him. It was close. Colon is the staff ace this year from what I've seen.

Odor has been given all of last year, spring training, and the start of this year to show something.

I still see a guy who strikes out a ton, can't take walks, and can't take bad pitches. His batting average is always hovering around .200

You really gotta ask yourself is it worth keeping odor as the everyday starter and automatically putting him in the lineup card just because he's a good fit in the club house, he dumps Gatorade on guys after a win at home. And he punched Ranger nemesis Jose Bautista?

I'd have to say no. Profar and IKF look a lot better than him right now and they've already given odor tons of time to figure it out. A smart organization would send odor down for the year to work on his approach at the plate while we continue to evaluate IKF and Profar, but I'm starting to wonder if we even have a smart organization anymore. We definitely used too.
I don't know. That punching Bautista thing is hard to overlook. HAha!

Bush even stinks at RR. Gave up 2 runs in the 9th to take the loss.

The night before Giles who has stunk most of the season for the Astros struck out the side and acted like an idiot after doing so against the Yankees. Then last night he came in the 9th with the score 0-0 and gave up a 3 run homer to Sanchez. He went off the mound and punched himself in the face and then once in the dugout started throwing the water cooler around. The guy stinks. What does he expect? But all of us on this board already knew he was an idiot. Meant to post this last night.

After through consideration, I have an answer to your concerns. Forget the Rangers and root for Toronto. Problems solved.:2cents:

The joys of having mlb at bat subscription. I can watch any and every out of market game.

When I heard Giles shit the bed last night, I went and watched the 9th inning just so I could laugh at and watch him fail.

Word. Best entertainment dollar spent. I've got three kids now, so I'm busy as hell and usually exhausted, but back when my life's pace was a bit slower, I watch about three games a night.

When I'd really geek out, I'd set up my laptop (which you used to be able to watch four games at one time tiled on the screen - I don't think you can do that anymore), my iPad and my TV, so I'd have an eye on six games at once.

Now I go to little league practices/games and change diapers. I don't change poopie diapers though.

I am afraid that they are going to keep running Odor out there until they have proven to the rest of the league that he isn't worth trading for. Had they shopped him this past offseason some teams would have had reservations about him, but some would have still had hope for him.

I'm probably the biggest Odor supporter here, and even I don't believe anyone would have wanted Odor this offseason.

After that extended contract, they would look pretty stupid to do anything other than try and prove their decision. That is common in big business. Admitting to that move just won't happen. Profar is the answer if he can keep producing at the current rate. He can give management the reason for change they are looking for.

You assume they did not shop these guys or would get value out of them. Perhaps Beltre allowed himself to believe we would be a strong contender. A lot of things had to right which have not to contend

You think it best to tell team we are planning on being non competitive That does not fly well with a mgr or baseball players. You might need to rethink Put yourself in Rangers FO and club position. Seems critical to me
You assume the opposite as well.

They had a conversation with Beltre.

It is best to do what is best for the team overall. You don't think those guys have that figured out by now. I heard Gallo talking yesterday and he seems to have it figured out. The players would probably rather management be honest.

Everyone is a critic. Not just me. Some criticize fans for being critical of the team's management. Some criticize the team's management. Some criticize the players.

You never seem to think a guy you really like on the team is tradeable though.

Anyone think that Calhoun's funk at RR could coincide with the fact that his chances are growing slimmer and slimmer in being called up?
Often guys who get a taste of the big leagues falter when they go back down.

I'm not ready to kick anyone of the trio of IKF/Profar/Odor to the curb just yet. And like several of ya have already made mention of, especially in reference to IKF and Profar, the sample size is quite small and needs to play itself out.

My problem with Odor is, he's been given way too much exposure at this point. And some of it, maybe a lot, he isn't responsible for. That falls on being on the lineup card every game.

Ideally, I'd like for the team to recognize that Odor needs to go back to the drawing board, i.e. AAA, and work on the many things he needs to improve upon. This would 'potentially' solve several problems. One, it gives Odor a real chance to get everyday work, without having the pressure of being in the bigs. Second, it gives us a chance to let the other two youngsters extended playing time.
Suppose Odor goes down and does well and at least one of Profar and IKF do well. Then we have more proof that Odor can hit AAA pitching and no proof that he can do better up here long term. What do you do for 2019 then? Do you give the job back to Odor and let the other guys sit?

I do not see Calhoun being a Ranger on the big team. Where would he fit?

That is true too. But you add that to a guy who was in the conversation that many thought he should be out there in LF now. Then all of sudden it is like forget you, this is Gallo's job as long as Guzman is at 1B and now it looks like we have other guys to take Beltre's spot at 3rd. Could be a combination of both.
