"I really want to get to Washington" - Alex Smith

There are two possibilities here....

1) Alex Smith is a smart guy, from a football standpoint absolutely no one in their right mind would want to go to washington, so the quote is completely fake and he never said anything like that
2) Alex Smith is a smart guy, realized the redskins would pay him oodles of money that no other team in the league would pay him, and actually said that.

Those are the only two possibilities. In all likelihood the sentence "I really want to get to Washington" has not been uttered by any football player in the 21st century with the possible exception of people talking about the Huskies, but even then...

In any case the insinuation that there is any non-money related reason that any player in the entire league would want to go to DC, other than maybe a case like vernon davis where they were a fan as a kid, is laughable.

Thats odd though. because the first cap (tag actually) didnt take place until the 2016 off season. I think thats when he decided he might be better off getting out of Dodge as Bruce and Dan were still trying to figure out a way to not have him as the QB.

C'mon man, the off season comes after the season is over, that means it comes in the New Year. Kirk was tagged ( thanks for the correction) twice, we are now in 2018 the off season for the 2017 season. Kirk was tagged prior to each season which means, first tag came in the 2015 off season finalized July, before the start of the 2016 season. Same thing for the 2017 off season/season.

OK now you are reaching boss. Right now we are in the 2018 off season, leading up to the 2018 season.

So in the 2015 OFF SEASON, leading up to the 2015 SEASON.... the GM wanted to extend Cousins. Bruce said NO. In the middle of the 2015 SEASON, the GM again went to the owner and his flunky. How ever at THIS point, Kirks agent said.. we should wait until the end of the 2015 SEASON, and talk about this during the off season.. the 2016 OFF SEASON, Which is when Bruce said,,, Kirk isnt worth $20M a year long term, so lets tag him and have him prove he is worth the $20M a year we are paying him any way.

I like the idea of reasoning why someone would come to play here, but I assure you that those "possibilities " are unlimited. We could in theory begin every thought on the subject with "Maybe he wanted to come to DC because....blah blah and blah.

How do we know that his favored mistress doesn't live here for example, or that he just loves the region, maybe he truly believes that the money is best here as you said, or that he can win here (yeah-I know) and on and on we go. That said, one thing that we know for certain is, that he'll come in here a starter, something that was not guaranteed to happen had he stayed in Kansas City.

The team treated him like an unwanted rental that they had to live with. Why would he want to stay. Good for him he got out. But the smith trade was as bad as choosing Jeff George over brad Johnson. And i expect similar results

Well... there are $10,000 a night, high class whores, and $300 a night alley skanks. I doubt the high dollar hoes are feeling that bad for themselves, and I doubt KC is either. He’s just like they are...laughing all the way the bank countin them dollas.

What makes an OFF SEASON...ans: that which preceded it. If you looked all the way back to the first year of football what preceded it was NOT an off season as there was NO season to begin with. The very first OFF-SEASON happened AFTER the very first season and so on through today.

Right NOW we are in the YEAR 2018 the season that allows this to be an OFF-Season is 2017

Nice analogy.

But take that high dollar hoe and tell her you are fine with marriage... but because you spent so much over the past two years... you want to move her into a two bedroom in Lincoln heights... because you feel you over paid her.

Let me know how that works out for you as you go find an older hooker for a little less money.

Easy, the 2018 OFF.....SEASON happens in the year 2018, and comes because there was a 2017 season.

Let me ask you, what are they having an OFF SEASON from? Why do they have a Pre-season? By that logic everything that's happening after the SB (final game of the 2017 season) is the pre-season. This is the OFF year or off season following the 2017 season.

But according to you Kirk decided he wanted out during the 2015 off season, which would have preceded the 2015 SEASON. Or was it the 2014 off season? I think you have succeeded in muddling things enough that Kirk never wanted to be here at all, and RG3 didnt fail.. the world failed him.

Bravo sir.

Or... that high dollar tramp got tired of feeling “unappreciated”, decided she was tired of that wrinkly, grouchy, old ass... was ready to move on to some younger, better looking, more appreciative, more lucrative clientele that would not only make her feel loved, but pay her even MORE for her “services”. All this, despite the fact that she would likely be compensated very well for a long time to be with the old dude, that although not very loving, took good care of her. Hope the young guy doesn’t pound her face in the first time she says “I’m tired”.

And yeah... the consolation prize is a slightly less attractive, slightly cheaper, lower maintenance, lower drama, classy lady who is always on time, always lookin good, and just as freaky in the sack as the other bimbo. And she’s ok with living in the 5000 sq. Footer at the bottom of the hill instead of the 10000 sq footer on TOP of the hill.

I think the old guy is gonna be ok... :suds:

I will simply say.. I have seen this movie before. I think Smith is less of a QB than Cousins, combined with his age.. sure he will cost less, but we will also DO less with him.

But I get it, as much as people wanted Cousins gone... you got to get behind the Smith move. :suds:

NO sir you are confused, Not me, you're still operating under the notion that the off season precedes the season, which it doesn't. Why misrepresent what I wrote? I said that I began to believe that KIRK wanted out not him during the 2014 off season which happened in 2015, then during the 2015 season. In fact I called it instinct, Turns out I was right and don't have to go through all of this grief that so many pro Kirk, anti team folks around here are doing long after recognizing what I first suspected then and confirmed with the first tag. Don't argue endlessly, search engine it.

RGIII, Really?, is that the best you've got?

Again dude... I think you are trying to play word games.

Most of the NFL world consider a particular off season, as the time leading up to the season for the year that we are in.

So in the 2015 off season, SCot wanted to sign Kirk, Kirk wanted to sign or at least would have considered it. Bruce nixed it.

During the 2015 Season is when Kirks agent said, lets wait until the 2016 off season and talk then.

The league year begins before the season. The offseason for 2018 will start very soon technically. Since the SB, it is understood to be the 2018 offseason.

If you need further evidence, look at what they call the conditioning programs, mini camps, workouts, and camps...the year attached will be 2018.

Shark wins.

Absolutely NOT, if anyone is playing a word game it's YOU! There's NOTHING confusing about when an OFF SEASON occurs, You want it to happen before a season, which it doesn't and I'm telling you that it comes AFTER the season but in the NEW YEAR.

NOPE, in the 2014 Off season that started on January 31 2015 (Post SB) Scott wanted to sign Kirk. Kirk was first tagged in the year 2016, that tag was locked in prior to the 2016 season and after the 2015 season, effectively making that time period the off season. It happened again, after the 2016 season ended and before the 2017 season began, effectively making that time period the Off season.

Let me ask you,... right now February 26 2018 by NFL standards is known as what in relation to the 2017 season? Why?? You're playing word games man, or you are confused.

Do your Google homie.... Google when does the 2018 off season start... let me know what date you get.

But I get it, you want to spin the narrative that Kirk wanted out before any one in DC thought of him as a long term solution.
