2004 - Clemson (4-4) vs #11 Miami - We went into their house and won, 24-17 in OT

their pre-game ritual of loading up on the buses at the South end of the stadium and driving around
to the North end, for them to come running down the hill.

Yea, that was a pretty ugly beatdown. And you're right about the score. I think we had one legitimate score and the other was in "garbage time."

I'm having a hard time thinking of Canes upsets since 2000 (1998 UCLA stands out). The win over #1 FSU in 2000 was massive.

2009 win over #8 Oklahoma looks good... until you realize that squad went 8-5. Ditto to #16 Ohio State in 2011 (squad finished 6-7) and #12 Florida in 2013 (4-8).

Win over #14 WVA in Russell Athletic Bowl? Lol, I'll say win over #1 FSU in 2000.

For Minnesota, wins at #6 Ohio State in 2000, and #21 Michigan in 2005 are huge.

My pick, however, is the 2009 Floyd of Rosedale game win over Iowa. Minnesota was 2-9 entering the game. They were pitted against a #24 Ranked Iowa squad and knocked em off in Minnesota 27-24 with interim head coach Jeff Horton in the snow. What an epic game!

Tough to say for ND. My nominees:

2004 @Tennessee - ND entered the game unranked, Tennessee entered the game ranked #9. Notre Dame ended the season 6-6 losing their bowl game and firing their coach. Tennessee went on to win the SEC East and finished the season ranked #13.

2007 @UCLA - ND entered 0-5. UCLA was 4-1 and was ranked #25 at the game. ND inexplicably won this game somehow. ND went on to have their worst season of my lifetime, while UCLA finished 6-7 losing their bowl game.

2011 against Michigan State - ND entered the game 0-2, Michigan State was ranked #15. Since this was only the 2nd game of the season, it didn't seem like a big upset at the time, but Michigan State went on to finish the season ranked #11, and ND limped to an 8-5 finish.

If I had to choose just 1, I'd say the 2007 game against UCLA. ND was just so awful that season. ND's other 2 wins that season were against 1 win Duke and 4 win Stanford(which even that was somewhat surprising)

Yeah. Hard to say because for the longest time we've blown games we easily should have won, but rarely have we come in as a clear underdog and prevailed (see, e.g., every major bowl game since 1994). Although I'd put 2013 Mich St on that list. We were their only loss that year and they went on to win the Big 10 and Rose Bowl and finished the season ranked 3. We had a middling 9-4 season with a mediocre bowl win over Rutgers.

I am going with the 2013 Iron bowl. Nobody outside Lee County thought we could rush for 300 on that D. We probably have games that we were bigger underdogs, but that one is it for me.
