Golovkin is basically this era's Mike Tyson and Canelo is the next in a long line of great Mexican boxers. You don't need to know much about boxing to know these guys.

I wouldn't see it as an embarrassment to MMA since all but one weapon an MMA fighter has at his disposal isn't allowed in the boxing ring, whereas in the octagon, a boxer is free to just box(hell, one dude wore a boxing glove on one hand in a fight with Royce Gracie. Gracie turned him into a pretzel in short order, but the dude was free to box).
