I really hope the FO doesn't force me into having to somewhat root for Kaepernick. But that's not to say I would rather have RG3 on this team. I think I would rather see them coax Matt out of retirement for a year, even at 40+.
Pretty sure I'm on a island, but much rather have injury plague RG3. Was a fan of his when he was in college and stilll think with the right coaching could be fine, if he could stay healthy. Never the less rather see the Seahawks develop a cheap rookie backup.

I'm not convinced they aren't sticking with Boykin. He's still on the team as far as I know.

I'm for that, but really hope he stays out of trouble. Was impressed with his play at times last year, specially considering him being a undrafted rookie and all.

I would love to see Kaep in a seahawks uniform if RW ever goes down for a few games I would be more than comfortable with Kaep playing as our starting QB. Even when RG3 was healthy I didn't really see him as an effective player

Kaep days of making things happen with his legs are kaput, see last season tape for verification. He's now a skinny vegatarian, he not going to be making awesome runs with his legs and he never had it as a passer. The whole idea of Kaep being a Seahawks player makes me want to barf.:mad2:

Kaeps mind has not been focused on football for some time now. talent is there physically but not mentally. RGIII is kind of in the same boat but he is playing scared, hit's rattle him like no other and behind this line ...

Avoid both like the plague.

Stick to the plan. They made Boykin the backup because he plays like RW lite. They have spent a full season developing him, don't derail the plan for someone cast away. Stick to the plan.

Just what i said just worded differently lol i say our Back-up is fine until the NFL decides what to do with Boykin. If suspended then Heap is your guy. He did not look bad when Boykin beat him out. Between the two of them they were about even in my eyes.

There is only 2 QB's in the league that remind me like #3 in the aspect of athleticism. Kaep is one of them. I want to win and I think he brings that more than RGIII or Boykin . Count me in for Kaep.:thumb:

It's a lot more than "athleticism" that makes RW who he is on the field though. It's decision making, elusiveness (Kaep has speed but isn't all that elusive), accuracy, poise, leadership, and on and on. Kaepernick has proven not to be a very good pocket passer. He has a long delivery, doesn't make great decisions nor throw for accuracy, etc. He could be a decent backup here, but he doesn't really remind me much of RW at all.

My post wasn't to break down who was the better QB as you so clearly point out. No argument on my part who's better. I'm talking about a backup QB who I think fits best. With our OL troubles I just see Keap being our best option.

Fair enough. Like I said at the end, Kaepernick just may be a decent backup here. I am not all that excited, admittedly, about the team thrusting the decision at me to either "forgive and forget" or not support the backup at the most important position on the field. If he does come here, I just pray that he doesn't bring the sideshow with him and signs for cheap.

yeah the only way Kaep is like RW is if you ignore accuracy, poise, elusiveness, leadership, touch, commitment, desire, Drive and total arm talent then you can say both have a strong arm and run good.

RW's leadership skills are on a totally different level. I would say only 2 or 3 other QB's are on that level with him in the NFL.
