For me it's...

Steve Young
Jerry Rice
Ronnie Lott
Ricky Waters
Joe Montana

I didn't get to see a lot of Montana and Lott, when I was aware of football but I still appreciated how good they were, when I did.

Please don't. He had one year over a thousand yards with us and was only a 49er for four years. I would put Garrison Hearst over Waters. Roger Craig for sure.

I said my top 5. I didn't say he was better. I just really liked that team. It's hard to even name 5 that I like more than the rest. I love Roger Craig and Hearst.

Number one can't be argued...It's Jerry Rice.


Number 2/3 are interchangeable. I go Young over Montana but either way is fine.


Number 4 has to be Ronnie Lott.


Number 5 would be Roger Craig.

Wrong. It's about your favorite, not who was best all time. Jerry is behind Young for me. Not by much. I didn't ask for a ranking or I would've had Montana 1st and then Rice.

I put Young above Gore because I was still very young during the Montana years and have vivid memories of Young's Superbowl.

Perhaps by "top 5" he meant "favorites" instead of "best". Favorites is the way I selected mine.
