The $165,000,000 Yankees have dominated the first two games in this weeks series. Horrible having the second youngest team in MLB holding down 23rd place in payroll ($96,000,000), facing a team doling out paychecks 1.7 times greater and loaded with multiple high-priced studs. Still, the Phils have held their own against the wealthy:
We're 4-3 against the $206,909,777 Giants.
2-2 vs $186,135,711 Dodgers
1-2 vs $182,951,139 Cubs
3-3 vs $181,349,058 Nats
4-3 vs $145,850,666 Cards
It's good we can pick on someone our own size occasionally:
4-0 over $87,332,499 Bucos
3-0 over $99,392,499 Reds
Obviously, the Phillies do have a good young team but to play deep into October we'll need at least one over-priced stud ourselves.
