Yep. This essentially shuts down every TV and movie now. Hopefully its enough to put pressure on the studios to come to a deal. They were banking on being able to starve the writers out by having enough content already filmed and already in production. But with SAG striking too all production is shut down, all they have left is content already filmed. That's about enough to get them thru the Summer but that's it.
Like we're gonna watch any new shows during the beginning of football and post season baseball any way. Let'em starve.

Network TV is trash but streaming and the premium channels all produce quality stuff and it's the backbone of their industry.

It’s also a major reason for the fight.

Streaming has changed the game

A major point of dispute in both strikes is the use of AI-generated scripts or actors, such as this:

DiscussingFilm said:
The studio's A.I. proposal to SAG-AFTRA included scanning a background actor's likeness for one day's worth of pay and using their likeness forever in any form without any pay or consent.

I heard somewhere that these strikes allow the companies to get out of any contract they don’t want.

Just watch reruns or shows that already existed that you never watched. Tons of material to choose from. Who really cares? It's all just a timewaste anyway.

I don't think everybody is in this together on these strikes since AMC gave in so their shows could still film well at least the Walking Dead Spin-offs and Interview with the Vampire series not sure about their other shows.

I dont miss anything yet, and have a ton of shows I plan to watch so it wont hurt me. I hope the writers win big though. Almost all of their demands seem fair.

They already had a really cushy gig

So I’d say small wins are pretty fair

Most people probably have a large backlog of tv shows and movies to watch. I’m probably good for 5 years at least.

I rewatch a lot of stuff as it is.

I could rewatch

Burn notice
White collar
Suits
Lucifer
Alias

And get a nice run there before I need a single new thing

It's not a physically hard job but its not sure it's an easy one. And with the monetary success of some shows and little money getting to the writers. I personally think they deserve big wins.

Not to mention the creative accounting used in Hollywood for decades. Movies that make 500 million that studios chuckle, shrug, and say they still lost money.

They focus on pushing societal rectal and pancreatic cancer rather than just making entertaining things

I don’t exactly feel sorry for them

I’m perfectly happy watching based old stuff than their modern trash
