Tonight it will be Clay Daniel Buchholz starting for the Red Sox.

It will be his 5th career post-season start. No decisions in any of his previous ones.

He has a 1.431 WHIP in 21 2/3 post-season innings, 25 hits allowed 6 walks and 18 Ks.

For the Cardinals the starter willbe someone who'se last name brings pleasant memories to Red Sox fans as old as I am.

Lance Lynn will be making his 5th career post-season start. A 1.634 WHIP in 33 2/3 innings, 37 hits allowed, 18 walks surrendered, 4 intentional. 32 Ks.

If he's any relation to Fred Lynn the announcers will almost certainly mention the fact at some point.

GO RED SOX! :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

Red Sox need to stop taking the first pitch as well. Clay needs to go all 9 with shut out ball. No stupid throws, catch the ball.... Score early..... and RUN when you get on base!

Taking the 1st pitch shouldn't be automatic, but it can help get ahead in the count.

If the opposing pitcher has demonstrated good control taking can be a bad idea, but if he hasn't
you want to make him show you he's getting better, and tire him out if he isn't.

Chasing the 1st pitch from someone who's having an a sub-par outing usually only helps the opposition.

Good inning for Doubront but can he do it again?

Let's hope so.

We're getting into their bullpen now. That's always a good sign for this team.

Lifting Junichi so quickly was something I didn't like, but it panned out.

Quit scaring me and get the win IN THE BOOKS, Red Sox!
