Because when a there's a tie for the division title and two teams share the title, one team of the two winners has to advance. In this case, written rules determine which of the two division winners advances to the title game.
Via a tie-breaker, which by definition determines a winner between two competitors. So by the definition, Ohio State was the division winner.

But if michigan was also the division winner, why didn't they play in the Conference Title Game, which is designed to have the two division winners square off?

No, just like OSU didn't win the tiebreaker in 2008 but was still considered the co-B10 champ.

I didn't ask you a yes or no question. So again, why didn't michigan play in the Conference Title Game, which is designed to have the two division winners square off? Unless you're saying "no, michigan was not the division champ, because they would've played in Indy if they were."

Because of the rule that decides which co-champ plays for the conference title game. You're incorrect assumption is that by not playing for the title game a team isn't also a co-champ still.

That's from the Big Ten website. It doesn't say "Ohio State, co-champion of the East Division". So that means we were the actual champion of the East Division. Because the actual champion is who plays in the conference title game.

OSU is the "championship game participant" - both listed as co-champs.

Sorry man, you're wrong.

It's not all UofM fans. But there's no doubt mNb09 & his pal trustmeimright have their custom meeeechegan homer goggles so tight on their heads it's cut the oxygen off to their brains.

That’s how it is with all fan bases though, the few outliers normally have the loudest voices. Normally it is those with the loudest voice that brand a fan base with unfair generalizations.

So you're saying Ohio State was the real champion since they were the ones representing the division in the CCG. I mean, that's only logical, right?

The only thing here that needs to be in quotations is michigan's "co division championship". Everyone knows OSU won the division. Otherwise they wouldn't have played in the CCG.
