Is this the first year that they are doing a wild card game on Monday? Seems unfair for the winning team to have short rest in the divisional round.

Lions just won their Super Bowl

Looking at the reaction of the fans, it kinda is that way. Before 1992, the last playoff win was in 1957, so the droughts are similar to championship droughts. I was reading how after this win, a Lions fan bonded with his father and grandfather over their playoff victory memories.

No, I think it's since they went to 7 playoff teams per conference...and the Steelers @ Bills game Monday is because of weather.

Don't complain, we get the same amount of football on Monday as we did on Saturday and Sunday...football is good...more football is better

The Niners will host the Packers next weekend, and it's gonna be a good one.
SF better be prepared...especially the secondary...and the OLB's.
CMac23 should be well rested and 100% ready to run wild.
Purdy will be busy studying film on GB's defense shifts.

Making the playoffs was a massive success for the Packers and obviously winning a playoff game especially against a #2 seed is just icing on the cake.

Rams are in the same boat as it was supposed to be a rebuild year for them so making the playoffs was a massive success for them as well. Though as a 9er fan I'm not shedding any tears for their loss today.

Glad to see the Lions finally get a win and if for whatever reason my 9ers get bounced in the playoffs I'll throw my weight behind the Lions to win it all. Given how many people thought Dan Campell was going to be a disaster for the Lions I'm glad he's got people eating some crow these days.

Cowboys just continue to amaze me with just how badly they constantly blow it in the playoffs. It'd been one thing to lose a scrappy hard fought game as it's the playoffs and every team is fully capable of beating the other but to get blown out by a team that's coming in as the #7th is just unconscionable.

All the Rams fans were jumping on me two weeks ago when I said the Rams were good but not a playoff threat. How did that turn out?

Pretenders this season who had a good stretch run.

Excellent post.

Not even completely through the Wild Card round, and a lot of great story lines are abound.

I'm with you on the Lions. That is a fun team, with a kickass coach, and a lot of players you want to root for. Afraid the defense isn't quite ready for prime playoff time, but they have just about everything on offense outside of a mobile QB. And those jerseys last night were top notch.

Grats to all the Lions fans out there. Enjoy the moment.*

From a fan who knows what it feels like to go decades without a playoff win.

No, I think most logical people see the Eagles winning tonight. :D
Now that the Cowboys lost so badly, I can see the Eagles winning just to rub salt in the wound, lol. But I still think the Bucs have a real shot of winning it. It will be a lot like the Rams vs Lions where just a couple things decide a close one.

Yeah, you may be right. I think the Eagles still win easily.

They really don't have any issues with screwing the Eagles

I see a 2 point game one way or the other. Neither team is all that good and the Eagles really haven't had an "easy" win this year. Their point differential shows that. Their injuries on offense are a little scary too given just how awful their defense has been. Not saying they lose for sure but as we've already seen, anything can happen. Not gonna count out the Bucs or Baker.

The Bucs win against the Packers is looking better and better now. Of course I think it might be their only win against a playoff team this season.

Not sure.

Eagles are 1-5 their last 6 games and Bucs are 5-1 their last 6 games.

One team won their way in, while the other backed their way in. With AJ Brown out, I'm leaning towards the Bucs getting it done tonight.

I’m assuming you mean the Bucs? The Falcons were terrible the last 6 games.

Who did the Bucs defeat in that 6 game stretch that gives you confidence? Who did the Bucs beat all season that gives you such confidence?

What does it matter?

It is an NFL schedule. Every team has some dudes and you have to show up and win any given week. 5-1 during any stretch in the NFL is a legit run of wins.

Bucs were an also-ran 4-7 back in November and now have a home game in the playoffs.
