I hate to be that guy but...man...we have the extra draft pick and we really could've used him. Would there have been salary complications? Maybe the Browns are salty as trade partners after RG3? Maybe we think we are set at RB?

Cap room would definitely be an issue; would have to get Cleveland to take back salary.

Kalil was the universally accepted choice for the Vikings at #3. The Browns wanted Richardson at #4. The Vikings were going to select Kalil unless they got a big offer. They claimed to have it but it was never confirmed. 1 suggestion is that the Buccaneers offered #5 & #36 for the Vikings #3 pick. Accepting such an offer would have meant losing Kalil to the Browns at #4. The Vikings took the Browns deal which got both teams the player they wanted. If that is somewhere near true the Rams would have had to make a better offer to get the #3 pick because there was no way in hell the Browns would have traded Richardson. (They still wouldn't!). I doubt that an offer of #6, #33, and #65 would have been sufficient. The Rams would probably have needed to upgrade #65 to #39. Fisher was committed to picking Quick at the top of the 2nd round so it's very unlikely that he'd have given up those picks. The alternative would have been #65 and a future 2nd round pick. You have to consider that Steven Jackson was seen as a top quality RB last year. Why give up 4 picks for a future replacement who'd share time with him in 2012?

I'm glad Richardson didn't fall to #6 and 'tempt' Fisher, although it's clear that couldn't happen. I didn't think Richardson was worth a top 16 pick then. I don't think he's worth a 3rd round pick now.

Is this your opinion on all running backs or T Richardson in particular?

I personally like T Richardson but I'm getting the notion around the NFL that RB is only slightly more important than FB, K and P.

Be pissed at Bradford if it makes you happy. The bottom line is that we were 1-15 and the worst team in the NFL in 2009. We had the #1 pick and we couldn't trade it. It was going to cost us that amount with the old CBA in place whether we picked Bradford or someone else. Would you be happier if we'd paid that money to Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy. Trent Williams, Eric Berry, Russell Okung, Joe Haden, Rolando McClain, CJ Spiller, or Tyson Alualu?

I thought not.

It's Richardson in particular. If you're picking a 1st round RB he has to have something special. I didn't see it in Richardson. I still don't. He doesn't have great top speed. He doesn't have great acceleration. He doesn't have a great move that' ll make a defender miss. He can break the 1st tackle but he can't do it quickly which allows the 2nd defender to catch him and bring him down. He's a RB that doesn't avoid contact so I thought he'd wear down and soon end up as a by committee RB. I saw him as a career 3.7 yard avg RB who lacked home-run capabilities. So far he averages less than 3.7 and his biggest play is 35 yards. I'm glad he's not a Ram. I'm also glad he's no longer a Brown. (I'm going to be in so much trouble for that. lol.)

I think we will have to wait for another draft to fix that piece of our puzzle. I don't think Snead is going to make any moves for a RB this season. In other wrods, we are stuck with a combo of Richardson, Pead, Cunningham, and Stacey at least for this year.

The Browns paid Richardson $13.9M for 18 games. :what:

Actually, yeah. I mentioned the beef that Cleveland has with us regarding the RG3 trade and there is a good chance that Indy actually contacted Cleveland once Ballard went down instead of Cleveland having T Rich on the trade block.

So, 17 games as a Brown confirms this? You left out 12 TDs and 50 receptions, btw, on that struggling team. He should be a more valuable cog on the Colts, as he won't be consistently facing 8 man fronts.

This confirms your stupidity. Cleveland had nothing on offense besides Trent. Watch what he does now on Indy. I would have given our 1st rounder for Trent all day. And now the Colts are 1 player closer to being a really, really good team.

And nobody hates Bradford on here. But some of us are frustrated and tired of watching this offense stall AND not be able to sign anyone else because we are strapped for cash. And YES his contract does not help. If you are going to be paid like that, we are going to need some first half TD's this year and not fall behind, only to play catch up.

But Trent Richardson is licking his chops right now I can assure you that. Anyone who has watch college football the past few years and watched what BAMA has done, knows he is a beast and will be a solid player with Andrew Luck.

That's just redonk.

You guys are saving your picks to move up and draft a QB. Just my humble opinion.

And guess what Rams' fans.... There is NO Trent Richardson in the upcoming draft I can tell you that. If he's on the Rams we are waaay better, like INDY is now.

And if anyone thinks this guy is going to breakdown, they are crazy. He split carries for 2 years at BAMA, then didn't last year and saw 8 man fronts like SJAX from a few years ago.

NOT ANY MORE
