"According to very strong source the Hurricanes and Predators are looking into the possibility of bringing in Ilya Bryzgalov to play some minutes while their starters get healthy."

Supposedly he signed with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL, but I don't think he's played a game yet.

In reading the flyers board I get the impression they bought him out ( and they signed him for nine years ). ECHL boy that's really a step down.

Yes, the Flyers bought him out with one of their 2 compliance buyouts. They used the 2nd on on Briere.

Yep, sure is a step down. We'll see what happens. I expect some team to take a gamble on him at some point this year.

Apparently he only signed a try-out contract with LV, just to stay in shape. He never signed a full contract with them, so he's currently not playing anywhere.

Well Hurricanes just gave Dipetro a try out and he will be playing with their AHL team so I guess they are not in the Ilya sweepstakes.

I can't believe the Islanders have the smallest payroll in the league. The owners certainly have a bargain with that team. Also the Avs are second in payroll.
