JVR is still out 2-3 more weeks, at best he can return mid first round they said. more realistic is to think that he'll be back in the 2nd round if we make it.

Grossman should be ready to go. He's wearing two knee braces out and is toughing it out, should be in for game 1.

Briere we have no idea unfortunately. I don't think he or the Flyers know either. I'm no doctor but if i had to give my best guess i'd say he could be back by maybe game 4 or 5 at best.

We know the Flyers love to withold information in regard to injuries. The hit was vicious. I have to look at it again if his shoulder was hit awkward.

i wouldn't have been worried about a seperated shoulder even if i hadn't seen that they skated today.. people show pain on those right away.. wincing, shoulder going limp, etc.. briere didn't show any signs of discomfort after the hit.. just got up and skated away

Excellent news! It seems like Grossmann and Bryz are good to go and Briere is at least close. We will see him in this series one way or another. Probably game one tomorrow night.

I don't see how any defensive pairing can skate with our 3rd line. They should create some odd man rushes and force some penalties. If Schenn keeps it going, the 2nd line could also be sick.

i'm guessing that 3rd line will be used against crosby's line.. when lava gets what he wants.. they are all very responsible defensively and have blazing wheels to recover for eachother.. with timo and carle they should all be very capable to shut down crosby, dupuis, and sullivan, who are also a pretty speedy line.. the positive for the flyers when that matchup is on the ice though, is the fact that a slight mistake anywhere on the ice could result in a goal the other way..

our fastest line with our best outlet passers.. can you say counter-attack?

that's why i think the pens are a good matchup for the flyers.. the flyers thrive off turnovers and mistakes.. when they play a team like the rangers who aren't that dangerous, but dont fuck up, the flyers struggle big time
