If any amount of last week's LSU shows up I would put it lower than that.

That said, I would even be fine with Utah slipping in ahead of Oklahoma for the #4 slot to get boat raced by tOSU or LSU if it gives the Sooners another crack at UGA in the Sugar although we would probably wind up with Bama.

Here is a question for the OSU, LSU and Clemson fans. Which of the teams 4-7 (Georgia, Utah, Oklahoma or Baylor) would you LEAST like to play?

Instead of trying to figure out which is the 4th best team of Georgia, Utah, OU or Baylor, I asked the question "Which team would have a better chance of beating tOSU, LSU or Clemson?" (IMO that answer was Bama but they are out of the equation.) But, if Georgia beats LSU in the CCG, then they'll have proven that line of thinking wrong. None of the other three have that chance.

The top three teams all have very good offenses so I'm not sure having only a good defense can beat any of them. While you have to be pretty decent on the defensive side of the ball to win it, history says you need to be able to score against good defenses. The CFP champions in the first five years have scored 42, 45, 35, 26 and 44 points. We haven't had a 20-17 type NCG game yet and there have been some pretty good defenses play in them.

Utah has...or is supposed to have...a damn good defense. I just don't see how their offense can keep up with any the other three. I don't see ANY defense shutting those three offenses down.

While it may not be good statistically or perceived to be any good, I don't think LSU's defense is that bad. Auburn is supposed to have a good defense but LSU held Bama to the same points as Auburn did ...more or less. And LSU did it against LSU's starting QB.

Baylor's defense is improved but their offense can't keep up either IMO. Baylor's OL is very suspect IMO.

To me, OU is similar to LSU. They'll score but their defense isn't supposed to be good. But like LSU, I don't think the OU defense is as bad as perceived.

All that said, the CFP will select the 4th best team...not the team that has the best chance of beating the top 3!
