Not sure anyone can defend Logan Thomas. All his interceptions were just horrible throws or horrible reads.

Should cut LT & Journell and fire Beamer while we're at it.

I'm not even gonna read the post game stuff for at least a few days because I just know Beamer will cut him a break. But he shouldn't. He's a 5th year and a grown ass man. Lay him out

Duke isn't a bad team. Most of us knew that and people who watch them knew it. But I would much rather lose to them straight up than the way we did today. Just an utter shitfest from Thomas.
Duke isn't a bad team but I just feel like they aren't going to get much better than where they are now.

Probably not. But if you're Duke, that's like winning the lottery. With their history, they should be exceedingly proud of their team. I imagine they are feeling what I would feel if we ever get a solid offense to go with our lights out D.

Do yourselves a favor; do NOT look at the stats for this game. It is just too damn infuriating how we won every category yet still lost. At the very least, Beamer needs to announce that there is an open competition at QB this week. Even if he doesn't intend to make a change (and you know he doesn't), just give the appearance to make LT's seat hot. Worst thing that could happen is he totally cracks and you put in Leal, which after that game, isn't a bad thing.

Now I'm going to take a long cold shower. If you don't see me posting later, its because I just drowned myself.

The only excuse I can think for Logan not been benched is Beamer promised him the world to get him to come back this year. There is no way Leal is that bad. Loeffler handcuffs the offense because he knows Logan is going to screw it up. Loeffler called a play to Win the game, and Logan throws a game ending INt.

Wow..what a crappy offensive performance. That truly fucking sucked..and I thought we had a chance in the 4th. LT played a terrible game for sure..not sure a couple of his interceptions (tipped balls) were all on him though. Would have to look at the replay.

I get a giggle every time sometime says to start Leal. Dontcha think if the coaches felt like Leal was the best option at QB or that he could go out there and win us a game..that he would be playing. Maybe I am naive in thinking this...but I don't think they feel that way. In mop up duty I have never seen Leal light it up..never heard that he was exactly killing it in practice. He may not even start for VT next year.

We all knew that the offense has been mediocre at best and very inconsistent in every one of our games, so it doesn't surprise me that it finally came back to get us. Without consistent play at QB and WR coupled with the total lack of a OL/RB running game, every game left could potentially go to the end. And oh yeah..whats up with Journell??? He looks like an NFL kicker at times and a middle scholl kicker other times.

With that being said...I grew weary of the LT is a bum, idiot, moron, .....FIRE BEAMER bullshit during this game thread. Keep that shit off here. If you want someone benched, think they stunk it up/sucked...you just want to go on a crazy rant...whatever. But lets not resort to name calling on here. Anyone that wants to make a football game and more specifically an individual players performance that personal to them....well who really looks like the idiot there.

All we have to do is look at the lack of talent in recruiting on the offensive side of the ball over the past 5 years. The defense gets our best talent year in and year out so this should be expected. Kendall Fuller should be given a shot at WR with the talent we don't have at that position. We continue to get undersized speed guys that are not strong enough and tweeners that are not quite fast enough to get separation. I did not see one broken tackle today by any offensive player.

The "coaches know best" logic fails to deliver when you remember this is the same Frank Beamer that kept Stiney and Newsome in their jobs for years even though everyone in the nation could see they were in over their heads. Not calling you out specifically, but I see this stuff a lot in comments and such. No, coaches don't know best all the time. And its a known fact that Beamer is fiercely loyal to a fault. So it is what it is.

Other thoughts now that I've cooled down:

-I'm already seeing LT apologists, people touting how many yards he produced, etc. Just stop. He stunk.Yeah, he moved the ball but he made some downright dreadful reads both in passing and running (thought he kept it too much on a few plays). I just got done talking to a friend who was at the game and he said WRs were open but LT couldn't find them. He played poorly. I don't get why people just can't say it. They always want to put positives on things when sometimes a kick in the ass reality check is what's needed. There's more to being a successful QB than putting up yards. In crucial situations, he made very poor decisions and that's what separates the good QBs from the rest. It's something we've seen out of him throughout most of his career. He can make all the throws, but yet he can't make all the throws. By that I mean he's physically capable of doing it, but mentally in the heat of competition he fails to deliver consistently. There are lots of QBs like him and its what will keep him from being a successful NFL QB (but why he's a prospect).Really he is no different than Sean Glennon. Glennon put up nice stat lines too. But what plagued Glennon was he had an incredible knack for making mind numbing turnovers at the worst possible times. LT had himself a Glennon game today. Simple as that.

-Defense was excellent. We had several guys out for various reasons but their replacements stepped up admirably. We're even deeper on that side than I thought.

-I've killed the run game all year so shout out to them. I thought they played well today. OL looked good blocking from what I saw and I thought the backs looked decent to good as well. We probably didn't use it enough effectively though. After showing solid gains from more traditional sets, we just settled into repeated zone reads usually with LT keeping. Maybe that good blocking will carry over

-At least we can still win the Coastal if we win out. We can always play spoiler! I've thought all along we're playing for next year's rating anyway so this loss doesn't change that. Correct mistakes, make changes if need be personnel wise, and get after it!

I was going to say the exact same thing.

I just got done talking to a friend who was at the game and he said WRs were open but LT couldn't find them.

Willie Byrn was consistently open and either Logan didn't see him or after the 30 seconds had passed where he went through his checkdowns and saw him, he was covered up. It was infuriating to see 1 or 2 open guys and Logan throw it to someone blanketed by a dookie.

Also, how in the HELL did they explain that punt that was "downed" at the one? The fucker touched it at the one, he went out of bounds (did not have possession) and the ball went into the endzone? I mean, I know Ron Cherry was officiating, but this was a moronic call even for him.

Also, Ron Cherry can choke to death on his gay lover's cock. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

one nice take away from Saturday, Kendall had 3 and should have had 5 interceptions in one game...i'm glad he's a Hokie.

Also, could future commentators learn to pronounce our guys names?

– Kickoff specialist Michael Branthover didn’t dress for the game, but, in a bizarre situation, the Hokies decided in warmups to dress him out. They called for him over the PA system in the stadium to report to the locker room. Luckily, he was in the stadium. He kicked off for Tech in the second half.

:wtf:
