Stranger things have happened.
And I recall worse NE QB's.
Yup, I'm old.

Belichick wants a QB he can yell and curse at. He misses that.

Looking at who's available, other than Bridgewater Dalton might honestly be the best short-term solution if Brady leaves unless I'm missing someone

Is it too late to void the Jimmy G trade?

How good was Eason? I started following football in either late '86 or early '87, and the first Pats QB I remember is Flutie.

He was a decent passer until The Bears made him see ghosts forever after.

Jimmy g has proven nothing more than he can manage a game with good
D

Niners have scored a ton of points (and may continue to have to with how the defense has been struggling), so it's more than just game managing, but Jimmy G is in a good situation. Shanahan is his head coach, and he has solid playmakers in Kittle, Sanders, Samuel, or Mostert/Coleman/Breida or Kyle Juszczyk that he can turn to on any given play. Offensive line is playing good enough. No excuse for Jimmy to fail.

Sporadically they have. So did the dolphins. Nothing with consistency. The offense by no means has been fire. He has not really had to carry or
Put up anything. He's in a great situation. With good Surrounding talent, a good coach and great d. There is no excuses imho like you said. He will have every opportunity to Prove it. But he hasn't done anything yet.

I find the success of that 46 defense fascinating. It's before my time as a fan, so I don't know what teams tried, but the Bears only gave up 10 points in the playoffs, so the results speak for themselves. Did teams try running a 3-WR or more set against the Bears?

He actually won a couple games this year 'by himself' by making plays that only good QBs make. I think he's a top 10 qb today (which means all the past stuff of guys like Brady and Rodgers doesn't count)

I didn't watch Dolphins games except for a few highlights, but they scored 175 fewer points than the Niners. It does feel weird to say that the Niners offense is good because everyone had focused on how good the Niners defense was, but it's the offense that is carrying the team right now.

Jimmy G really just has to give the ball to his playmakers, so we can't really say he's doing anything special. Things have been set up nicely for him, but he's doing his job really well, so that's encouraging.
