If he's available, it's a great choice. He's a decent starter, super popular with fans and teammates, and just had a nice playoff run.

Will he be available? Betting money says that hm and Rutherford have a gentlemen's agreement and he'll waive. Or maybe after his performance this post-season, a trade will materialize before the draft. Worst-case scenario (for Pens), he's bought out, in which case he's available to anyone...

Today's the deadline for teams to ask players to waive, BTW.


No news that the Jackets have asked Hartnell to waive, which could be playing into that Clarkson rumor. If they can get VGK to take Clarksy, that avoids the Hartnell mess and eliminates the threat of losing Karlsson, Anderson or Korpi.

Crazy high price, especially since we already gave away our second rounder. Maybe the bald Finnish fuckwit has a deal in place to get another 1st? Send them the 1st and a prospect (Milano?) to pick Clarkson and then get the first traded back for Johnson (+)? Dunno.

Vegas gets an additional prospect and CBJ get needed cap room with some FAs coming up. In the end, Vegas gets their D-man.

I don't believe so. have never heard of a case where contract has added cash or bonus mid-contract.

Wouldn't that be a bribe? Of course bribery is acceptable as long as you don't get caught. It's just like tampering.
