Not really excited by this news. Bryce is a leader and solid player but the guy is 36. I would have named a younger guy, who is going to be here for a long time, captain. Similar to what Philly did with their situation.

exactly sj. to me a captain is something that shouldnt be given out every few years same as with a coach just looks tacky

If the coach and team are ok with it, I'm ok with it. There's no set rules for who should be the captain or what the requirements are (aside from no goalies). If nothing else he can't be worse than Jamie "Half the team hates me and I get into a fight with a teammate every other day" Langenbrunner.

IMO: Kovy had no shot at that C after he didn't get on a plane immediately from Russia. Anyway, they let him save face by keeping the A, which he probably does deserve.

Clarkson is better as a mid level role guy. He can score goals, problem is when he is relied upon to be one of the top line guys. Ain't gonna happen. I mean really, how often does a career third liner suddenly and consistently score 30 goals? Writing is on the wall, always.
