Is there anyone that you guys have been watching and would like to see the Rams get?

I actually really hoped the Rams had drafted both bailey and austin this previous draft and we got em. We get two picks and I have a feeling the Skins are going to take a step back with an up in the air QB status which will plague them all season.

Okay, so for me depending on our WR play, I wouldn't mind seeing us draft either Marquise Lee or Sammy Watkins, two more major play makers like Tavon Austin. Also, Michigan has arguably the best Olineman in the country and with the uncertain health of Saffold I wouldn't mind having two Michigan alum beast protecting Sam.

We'll definitely be taking the best tackle available with our first pick.

Top of the Draft:

Taylor Lewan
Jake Matthews
Cyril (the guy from Alabama)

Otherwise:

Antonio Richardson
James Hurst

Second First Round Pick

Anthony Johnson - DT - LSU
Lasche Seestrunk - RB - Baylor

This is all predicated on the Rams having at least 1 top 10 pick.

Depending on how the RB's play this season, they may be looking at OT ( to replace Saffold) and a RB in that order.

If the RBBC works out, but Quick fails to develop, then it would be WR and OT in that order.

If the RBBC and Quick work out, then it would be OT and S ( since that would be our next weakest spot ).

Jordan Matthews is definitely a guy to keep your eye on. Sammy Watkins is probably the best WR in the draft.

Jake Matthews and a number of otehr blue-chip O-lineman, RB, and A D-lineman to compliment Brockers will be the picks this year. Also, LB will be in the mix.

I am going to make my assertions based on both picks being in the teens to low 20's

I am almost 100% sure (especially with Dunbar being cut) that 1 of the first 3 picks will be an OLB.

I am going to say that the Rams end up with Kyle Van Noy, OLB from BYU and Antonio Richardson OT from Tennessee in round 1 and Ty Zimmerman, S from Kansas State in round 2.

However, if Lache Seastrunk falls to us in round 1... all bets are off!! I love this kid (especially after what he did to KSU last fall)

Scenario A: Team is successful, Bradford is good, Richardson is good
We probably draft OT and BPA and let Saffold walk

Scenario B: Team is decent, Bradford is good, running game sucks
BPA, BPA. Try to trade down to target running backs. I dont see an elite guy

Scenario C: RG3 gets hurt, Redskins implode
We make a move on Bridgewater or Clowney

Scenario D: Team is ok, Bradford is ok, Redskins are ok
WR, LB/S

Scenario E: Bradford struggles, team is ok, Redskins are ok
We end up going after a veteran like Philip Rivers and offer a package of sorts

Scenario F: Bradford struggles, either Rams or Redskins struggle
Make a move for Bridgewater

The Rams need to draft a RB in 2014.

He's the Jarvis Jones of this draft IMO, simply the best player on the field. It's possible like he'll drop like JJ did though because he's a football freak and not a track star.

Don't know about CJ in coverage. He didn't come out for a reason in 2013 - he knew there were many good OLB's and in 2014 he will be at or near the top. Jarvis Jones? We'll see.

I think we'll keep Saffold next year and even if we don't I think Barksdale is able to fill his shoes nicely.

positions we can't avoid drafting are,
RB
Guard
OLB

However, it is waaaaaaay to early to tell who we'll need to draft next year.
As pointed out above we need a rb, G, and OLB. Who's to say Ray ray doesn't come in week 4 and make DROY? Who's to say Pead doesn't come in and become the next Barry Saunders? And maybe Chris Williams has been playing out of position since drafted by the Bears. My point is this is all hypothetical so, who knows? There are always a couple of players that surprise every year and a couple that disappoint.

Surprises from 2012 draft class: Players that have gone beyond expectations
Givens 4th round pick?
Richardson 7th round
T Johnson 3rd rounder

Disappointments from 2012 draft class: underachieved
Pead: 2nd round
Quick: 2nd round
Watkins: 5th rounder, I'll let this one slide because he was a late draft pick.

So far we've hit on more draft picks than whiffed. Thus, so far the 2012 draft class has been some what of a success. We'll know more this season.

It's hard to blame Quick too much for underperforming when the team took it slow with him intentionally. Pead has looked pretty good this preseason if not for the fumbling (and of course his stupidity that resulted in a suspension).

I am really excited (for a change) about this season. Lets put the next draft in the back burner for a while. I guarantee that some guys will WOW the experts this year and will be high picks. My wish is we have picks #1 (Washington's) and pick# 32 (Rams). That is all!
