and then of course, ruf walks after him. and of course, bases are left loaded. you don't just fucking hand them a free out.

That has been the teams MO for the last several years. Swinging at bad pitches and taking themselves out of innings.

Bad game by Hamels, but he has given up 3ER or less in 14 of his 21 starts. Of those 14, the team lost 9 of those games due to poor run support.

I hate games like this. The Phils have been doing this all year. Having games where they dominate teams that have losing records and the very next game they can't sustain their offense! It is like they take the day off or something and Charlie just stands there. God, I hate this shit!! Back to .500.

Hamels earned the loss but that 1 extra run given up by the bullpen was huge. Should have been a tie game right now...

i'd say brown and manuel both share the blame. i'm sure brown, howard and utley all have the green light if they want, but both showed poor decision making given the situation. manuel needs to throw up the take sign, regardless. and brown shouldn't be that arrogant.

even though ruf is striking out a lot, he's one of those guys that usually gets the job done somehow. i'm sure at the very least he would have leaned over the plate some and hit a sac fly.

it was a huge loss. it will be tough to beat harvey today. and if they do, it just means we could have had a sweep.
