I might be cynical but it looks to me like the NFL has bent over backwards to avoid catching big name players whilst they're using the expendable players to send a message.

At least it's not snooker where top players can bet on themselves to lose.

Maybe it's because most Big Name players are not gambling on games because they have so much more money and a are lot more risk adverse.

In my experience, (and I used to work in the nerve centre of a major UK sportsbook), athletes and sports people are more likely to take risks than anyone else. Having more money didn't change what they did, it just changed their staking levels. Higher stakes gamblers do tend to be more secretive about what they do so they are harder to catch.

No they don't. The league is too retarded and couldn't even explain it. The league is so retarded they only caught about 5 guys of the hundreds that do it. And only because a couple lame ass states with some massively faggy politicians paid some bitchy lawyers to write a bunch of letters on a page with spaces between some of them. Fuck you corporate bootlicker.
There are rules and laws with everything. Many of them are stupid. Doesn't mean you can break the laws.

Suck it up buttercup. You get paid to play a sport. The best trainers and facilities in the world. Hot chicks everywhere. Play your handful of years, get out and smoke weed and gamble your ass off.

No pity at all for these idiots, none.

Wait.
I get not allowing players to bet on football, but golf?

WTF does that got to do with the integrity of football? THE NFL has lost their fucking minds!
I agree but it's a rule.

I could also see where a player of one sport colludes with a player from a different sport to throw their games?

In a court of law, you can beat a charge by arguing the law does not make sense.

The issue here is not that players are ignoring stupid laws,
The issue is that the NFL wrote laws that are unclear.
Vague and unclear laws do not serve anybody - except the NFL who is tring to look high and mighty.....
