Maybe this is the reason we are viewed as not such a good team league-wide. Here is the latest financial values of all 32 teams. The first value is the team's worth if it were up for sale and the value in parentheses is the operating gain or loss.

2. New England Patriots: $1.8 billion ($139.2 million)
3. Washington Redskins: $1.7 billion ($104.3 million)
4. New York Giants: $1.55 billion ($64.4 million)
5. Houston Texans: $1.45 billion ($81.5 million)
6. New York Jets: $1.38 billion ($52.8 million)
7. Philadelphia Eagles: $1.314 billion ($47.8 million)
8. Chicago Bears: $1.252 billion ($63.2 million)
9. Baltimore Ravens: $1.227 billion ($48.3 million)

18. Carolina Panthers: $1.057 billion ($28.9 million)
19. Tennessee Titans: $1.055 billion ($40 million)
20. Kansas City Chiefs: $1.009 billion ($15 million)
21. Minnesota Vikings: $1.007 billion ($28 million)
22. Cleveland Browns: $1.005 billion ($17.1 million)
23. New Orleans Saints: $1.004 billion ($22.2 million)
24. Arizona Cardinals: $961 million ($9.7 million)
25. San Diego Chargers: $949 million ($30.4 million)
26. Atlanta Falcons: $933 million ($18.5 million)
27. Cincinnati Bengals: $924 million ($37.3 million)
28. Detroit Lions: $900 million (-$3.5 million)
29. St. Louis Rams: $875 million ($21.1 million)

Once the whole stadium issue is taken care of, the Rams value will go much higher.

If you are saying what I think you might be saying, I agree the value WILL go much higher.

Just like real estate, it all about location, location, location...

There is a reason why Artie Moreno, owner of the MLB Los Angeles Angels changed the name from Anaheim to Los Angeles...It increased the value of his franchise PLUS increased his merchandising sales to boot!!

You give the Rams a state of the art stadium in either St. Louis or in LA like you mention, the franchise value goes up. Of course, with LA you'd get an extra boost in value due to the potential size of the market.

Living in LA and being a urban planning architect I can tell you that stadium will never happen. Environmental studies, traffic impacts, and absurd politics will make that stadium a pipe dream. For anyone that's been to LA Live knows exactly what I'm talking about. Only way So Cal gets a stadium is in the City of Industry. Better location, less traffic, and more room to build on. Problem is LA wants their cake and to eat it too, which isn't going to happen.

The EIR or Environmental Impact Report was done ...

And, as you can see, it was no small accomplishment!!

AEG Completes Farmers Field EIR - Los Angeles Downtown News - For Everything Downtown L.A.!: News

BTW ~ This is rather old news...

Either way however I do like the idea of them playing in the City of Industry much better, if the team were to move out West.

Rams will never get a new stadium if they don't pay for it. Maybe if they pay half or so but asking a city to cover the entire cost is ridiculous. They are not willing to pay for the current dome remodel that they presented.

It wasn't ridiculous when the city of St Louis was courting the Rams ownership to move the team from LA. Part of the agreement to move the team was clearly outlined to provide a top tiered stadium in the future for the Rams, it's part of what made the move happen in the first place, so I really don't see why there is an expectation for the Rams to make concessions now and I'm sure that is why the Rams organization won the arbitration on the matter.

It's time for the City of St Louis to put up or shut up whether it be the EJD or elsewhere in St Louis as some of you have eluded to, as you can see it is hurting the Rams Worth. What message does send to Stan? My guess is that Los Angeles is looking pretty good these days and you know what? That's just fine be me.

Vita, you are absolutely correct and I think the relationship is continuing to sour between Kroneke and the City of St Louis to the point that the team is going to fulfill its contractual obligation and then after 2014 head West to LA

Now jacobarch is under the distinct impression that the stadium in LA will never fly for a number of reasons one of which is location suggesting the City of Industry is the place to be (I know where that is at in LA). But Kroneke has not closed his offices in LA either and I think there is a move under foot that is continuing because nothing major is happening in St Louis either.

So I fully expect the Rams to move back to LA in the near future.

Guys from a guy that started watching the Rams in the Coliseum in the late 50's and very early 60's I hope the Rams and St Louis get a stadium done. I am no longer in California and live in Arizona so as long as the Rams and Cardinals can play in Phoenix once a year it is possible to see them. What ever happens I will always be a Rams fan.
