This might explain why Couts struggled a bit offensively

Sending Brayden Schenn out the door doesn't make a lick of sense.

Why not? He might be able to get better in the future but if they can get a better player for him, why not do it? They have plenty of centers and it seems like he's the one guy that gets pushed to the wing, if they can find a better second line center, they can trade him and possibly get a winger who's more suited for this team or a d-man that can help in the top four or picks/prospects - he's the guy that is tradeable and has value

I have a feeling trading bschenn would be an identical situation to trading jvr. Everyone thinks it's a good or okay idea, then they do it, and everyone gets pissed about having no patience. I want them to keep him. Have him be the 2C all year, and see what happens. Find him a creative winger (hemsky?) to go with Simmonds and see what you have.

He has to step it up offensively though - the second line desperately needs to be better

B Schenn probably goes bc of Vinny L being here.. I kind of wish we could buyout Vinny. He is making too much money to play on the 4th line. Schenn may be part of a nice package w Coburn possibly? On another note, I thought Berube did a fantastic job w our guys. No reason why he would not be back, although I like Trotz and he is available. We need speed and get better at playing 5 on 5 hockey. Someone brought up Kessler or Mason Raymond on another thread? I like both of them. Either guy would help. I think ultimately though B Schenn is going to be dealt.

Also there's a guy named Bobby Ryan who the Flyers could still go after - I think he'd be a good fit on this team - maybe Braydon Coburn in a package for Bobby Ryan? Sens really need help on defense

How many years is Ryan locked up w the Sens? He's coming off a big injury isn't he? I bet he would cost much less now than if we were to get him when he was a Duck? I really want to keep both Schenn and Coburn. Wish we could unload Harts and his contract. However, he's not going anywhere. I'm also good w Bobby Ryan like u said. Having ties w the Flyer Org is a good thing.:suds:

He has one more year left on his contract - and he is coming off of surgery so maybe he does cost less, but the surgery does explain why he struggled this season - he's probably due for a bounce back year next season

Speaking of having to step it up offensively Couts needs to get much better if he ever wants to be a 2nd line center.

Claude Giroux is also a finalist for the Ted Lindsay award(voted for by the players) - Crosby and Getzlaf are also in the final three

unfortunately i dont think anyone takes that from crosby for the forseeable future. hate his guts, but he is the best player in the league.
