That comment is going to hurt Rick's feelings. He doesn't like to be criticized on the Twitter.

So those first 4 yrs were always the plan too?Except it WAS. Meatball fans incessant bitching does not change the fact that 2020 has ALWAYS been the target date. lol
I don't remember the unofficial Sox timeline for really busting out, so I'm not disputing the 2020 target. In my own mind when the rebuild began I had projected at the time that this year would be the season in which we'd be in the playoff hunt all the way - maybe not make it, but definitely be in the thick of it. Then in 2020 we'd not only be in the playoffs, but likely hunting for the AL crown as well. In fairness, I think part of the blame for being at least a year off (if not two) has been due to so many injuries to our key prospects, particularly the Tommy John injuries to our young pitchers. That of course is not the only reason, but if we're being fair, it has contributed to the delay.Except it WAS. eloy and moncada coming around had a lot to do with that.A small (very small) victory in that we somehow avoided 90 losses for the year, which a month or so back I would have thought impossible. A little mo to build on for next year.
