The MAC brings you the Bahamas Bowl!!

The MAC announced Monday the creation of the Bahamas Bowl, a matchup against a rotating group of conferences (including the AAC, C-USA, Sun Belt and Mountain West) for the next six years starting in 2014. The first year of the bowl will feature a MAC team against an AAC team, then MAC vs. C-USA in 2015.

The Bahamas Bowl and the Boca Raton Bowl might give way to coining the phrase “destination bowl game,” where even if the pairings aren’t the most intriguing, the opportunity to go somewhere warm and take a vacation with the bowl as an additional item on the itinerary makes for a fun winter trip.

Even better, it is 6-6 MAC, Sun Belt, Conference USA, and AAC teams!!!

Stadium seats 30,000. There is the Atlantis Casino Resort that is outrageously expensive already and will probably double its rates for the bowl game gouge.

They already have bowl tie-ins and it would probably cost the mid-major conferences a lot money to get out of those contracts.

The Bahamas are pretty cheap from Florida. Bahamasair is advertising $59 fares into Freeport from Ft. Lauderdale, so not much more expensive then coming to Florida and probably a more appealing winter destination than the current MAC crop of Birmingham, Mobile and Boise.

It's been quite a few years since I've been, but when I walked into the hotel lobby, I was handed a Rum Punch before I was handed my room key!!

First thought? I'm gonna like this place!!

Most places in the Caribbean are like that...I could definitely go for some Island time right about now. St. Kitts and Nevis was my favorite, not too touristy...and by that I mean nobody hassling you to buy something every 10 seconds. They also have alcoholic monkeys, which is pretty entertaining...one of the first things they tell you is if the monkey takes your drink, don't try to take it back, monkeys bite...

Not sure if you can make it to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but the Iron Horse Hotel gives you an Appletini while you go through check in. Check in took all of 10 seconds also.
