Anyone gonna watch? I'll be in and out today. Just got back from vacation and have plenty to catch-up on out in the yard. This race seems to have lost it's appeal to me, but it's still racin' so I'll watch.

I'll probably watch, just because I used to go in person.

Still, it's really not the best track for those cars to show their stuff, is it?

nah, It was a big deal at first because of the history and tradition and recognition that Indy has, but now that has worn off and it's just another race. The track is great, but like you say, I just don't know if it's a "stock car" style track.

I may stick my nose in from time-to-time but if it is anything like the Nationwide series race yesterday, I probably will not watch the whole race. Snoozer!!

Congrats Ryan: This will be a very popular victory here in Hoosierland.

Looking at the # of folks in the stands - and knowing that the attendance has been well down for years now - I'm really surprised that IMS hasn't taken to closing more sections off & saving themselves staffing/clean-up concerns. :noidea:

The stands looked bare in a lot of places. It's a shame. I lay the blame directly on NASCAR and their "fix it until it breaks" philosophy.

As I mentioned before, it's not the best track for those cars - and a lot of folks have figured that out. Another thing that effects the attendance is the usual (this year is an almost 'extreme' exception) weather for this event. I've sat in the Turn Two stands in the direct sun on a 90+ degree day, & it's like sitting on a broiler plate.

You of all people should know IMS holds something like 250,000. Even if its 1/4 full, that's still a good crowd.

I am glad Ryan Newman won the race. That is a good win for him after a long drought. Since he is not going to be a driver for Stewart/Haas next year because of sponsorship, I see the likes of Dodge snapping him up in a team with Matt Borland as crew chief in 2014 when Dodge stated it wanted to return with a premier team.

He will be in the #29 next year, with Quicken as his sponsor.

Yeah, its like the worst kept secret in Nascar. I don't see why the just don't go ahead and make it official. There's been a couple of incidents that last couple of years where everyone knew what was going to happen months before it was even announced.
