And which group wins more natties?
Not the point. Two of those conferences get what's in essence an extra bye week. Being too chickenshit to play your own conference members goes against what college football is supposed to be about.

I'd rather win more natties.

Or it could be worse and they could be in the Big12.

In no way shape or form is it worse than playing in the SEC east. But please keep telling yourself playing one more SEC team won’t help your schedule all the while proclaiming the SEC is the best conference.

I'm not prepared to back down just yet. We might not do it, but we have a shot, but if not, I'm really confident about 2019.
Jawja may get one. What I was pointing out was in the CFP era, sans Ohio State, Bama and Clemson, the rest of the SEC, ACC and B1G have the same amount of nattys as the PAC 12 and Big 12. Zero, zilch, nada.

Ohio State was still playing an 8 game conference schedule when they won.

Hell, they way tOSU was playing late in the year, they could have played 4 conference games and won the natty.

If they'd have played the last part of the season like they did the first of that season, they wouldn't even have been in the playoffs.

They don't beat Bama that year if JT Barrett doesn't get hurt.

An exactly why some may call that an advantage. But hey that’s not the SEC and ACC’s fault, that’s the other three P5 conferences fault for adding an extra conference game.

The conference schedule has very little to do with National Championships. The National Champion is generally good enough to beat whatever schedule the were asked to face.

The place an 8-game conference schedule makes a difference is in qualifying more teams for bowls - meaning the bennefit is to the conference teams that go 3-5 in conference, but can still manage to end up 6-6 overall.

I'm sure Georgia will win another one at some point.

If only we could play Notre Dame 12 times a year.

It's been 30 years for yall, and Georgia is undefeated against Notre Dame, and we had home field advantage in your stadium just last year. Come back when you have room to talk. Nobody gives a shit about stuff that happened before the Truman administration.

Georgia had a very good team last year. And if UCF had been invited to the playoffs over Alabama (which they should have been) the Bulldogs might have won the National Championship last year. Oh well - what might have been.

Will Notre Dame get to play for a Natty any time soon? Probably not. I guess I should just quit watching college football all together. You sure showed me.

Oh - or here is an althernative approach: light the f*ck up.

Good strategy. After all - it is the most recent win-loss record of ones favorite football team that determines their intelligence and/or social value, right?
