The letter Y is sorta sparse, however I remember a very good film I saw again just a few days ago:
Young Sherlock Holmes

Then there's the Western film:
Young Guns

For N, add:
Natural Born Killers

K is sorta a short list too, so let's add:
Karate Kid
Kingdom of Heaven
Kelly's Heroes

The Letter J could use some love too, so let's add:
Jim Thorpe All American
The Jungle Book
Joe Kidd
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Jumanji

GREAT work here.

I have no idea how we are going get this down to 5-ish per letter.

I would like to have no less than 3 (for "Z"), bit not more than 7 or so ("M" and "P")...

I think 5 is a good number... But yeah, might not be able to get to 5 for a few letters...

Yeah... depending on the letter, we might have 7 or 8 or even 9 final choices... but for other letters, we might struggle to get even 3... with perhaps the average being approx. 5 or 6 for most letters.

We should just be flexible in coming up with a final list... with some letters having a lot of choices and other letters not so much.

Maybe do it like a playoff bracket.
Movie Tourny.
Do it by letter if there are a lot in that letter or have xyz compete, etc.

Das Boot... D or B?

El Cid... E or C?

Il Postino... I or P?

I think these are all "the", so these should be B, C and P...

Ok, I have a master list of everything that has been mentioned in this thread to this point. I also added a few extras (Sixteen Candles, Christmas Story, etc).

One question...

Should we add a new category for numbers?

Why put Twelve Angry Men under T instead of #?

Further, if we do this, where do we put One Flew Over the Cuckoos nest?

Only do a number if the original movie used a number instead of a word.
One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest is a word.
4:10 to Yuma a number
That would be my suggestion.

12 monkeys = #
Twelve Angry Men = T

I can go with that...

Use Innermind's list. I didn't examine it but it looked like it was pretty comprehensive. Post a poll for A from those. Top 5 vote getters move on to the final... repeat for each letter. It would take awhile.
