You did if you had a K car. My dad got one for a company car and the steering wheel was cockeyed beyond belief. Plus we ran out of gas a block down the street. It literally had no gas in it.

Pick one - same year:

or

Ferrari-F40-g.jpg

In a straight line the GN was a fast fucking car.

And I had a 1995 of these and for their time, they were solid and easily beat 'Stangs and such. Especially heavily modified on yhe handling side as mine was.

Had a '93, mildly modified.
Adjustable Koni's, bushings, 235/55/16's performance summer's instead of the all season 215's.

Now...Just bought an '18 with the Per4formance Package. Haven't even driven it but to work once.
Looking forward to taking it to the Tail of the Dragon!!

I did every possible thing to aid handling. Even put in a Quaife LSD. Had the Koni's too. I had it from brand new till 2015, 20 great years.

No inclination to own one of the new ones though. Much happier with my 2 forced induction Germans.

Maintenance costs on those germans scares me.

No pain no gain...
Yeah...I can take this SHO to 450+ hp pretty pain free...and it has all the features I want or need.

You keep the Germans, I'll stick with my Ford.
Those Germans are undoubtedly fine vehicles, but like you said, you got 20 years out of your Fast Ford. I am on 18 and counting with my Explorer. My faith is not blind, I have had great luck with more than a few Fords.

Do they make them anymore?

I've owned 4 Fords. My 95 SHO which even though I had it 20 years cost me.

A 91 Super Coupe. Uber money pit.

A 97 Contour. Money pit and shite.

Also owned a Ranger 4x4.

No........ I'll take my Germans any day of the week. Haven't spent much on them aside from oil changes. Could even save on that if I did it myself but I can't be bothered.

'82 Mercury Capri 5.0. Bought in '84, still own it, rock solid. Clutch, PP & TO Bearing.

'85 Mercur XR4Ti. 125k mostly trouble free miles. AC hose and power window switches.

'89 F-150. 10 years and 150k trouble free miles. An alternator was all it ever needed.

'93 SHO. 125k trouble free miles. Clutch, PP & TO Bearing.

''01 Explorer. 220k bullet proof miles. Bullet proof. An exhaust gasket. Still not a rattle or squeak in it, not counting the cheesy cup holder plastic. I got LUCKY.

'06 Lincoln LS. 80k. FANTASTIC car. Never the same after the tractor trailer ran it over....

My company supplied '04 F-150 has been an absolute tank as well with 175k on the clock. An alternator at 170k.

I feel pretty confident in my Fords, and I drive them hard. I also take care of them like my kids lives may depend on it and only use top quality name brand parts. Mobil 1, Purolator, Autolite Platinum or Iridium, K&N, Performance Friction.

I did put KYB GasAdjust Shocks on the Explorer last year. They will be replaced with Bilsteins. The KYB were great for about a month.

I forgot my first car, a brand new 1974 Capri V6. A lot of issues, traded for a 1976 Volvo 245.
