Kinda reminds me of when Indy was trying to take out the Lebron/D-Wade Heat. They put so much energy into securing HCA for the playoffs that by the time they played the Heat, they didn't have enough left to actually beat them.

Yep they been in 4th gear all season long. The only other teams out east that I can say that for are the Knicks and Magic.

HCA is not the big of a deal when you have vets on your teams who aren't scared of the big moments away from home as a crowd can only do so much

As long as you aren’t playing people hurt there is no reason to not play ball. Silly to think you can just turn it on any time you want. I get being rested though.

It is called pacing yourself. Not even about turning it on and off imo. I’m not saying they should play like shit for 2 months but 4th gear from October through April then needing another 3 months from mid April through mid June to win the title? It’s hard

Denver was in 3rd gear until all star break and went to 4th gear after the break. They are still going to win 55+ games. You can still win a shit ton of games by pacing yourself

It all comes down to how you are pacing yourself. Throwing away games thinking you are pacing yourself is just dumb, makes no sense. Veterans don’t get stressed out about a loss here or there, that attitude is a lot different than “pacing” yourself for no real reason. Burnout can happen for a lot of reasons, one of which is just getting tired of being around each other. As long as teams have chemistry and all want the same things then just win. It becomes contagious, and expected.

Uh... are you guys unaware of the fact that the C's have been giving many guys rest games off this regular season?

Horford, Porzingis, Jrue all been getting scheduled rest... and to a lesser extent with some other guys.

The Celtics are just that good and that deep so it hasn't mattered much in the W-L column.
