Since he joined the Lakers, the most regular season games AD has played has been 62 and that was the bubble season. Outside of that it has been 36, 40 and 56.

Seems that expecting random injuries isn't counter-intuitive at all. His history shows that it's more likely than not that he will miss significant time.

The injuries are random though and AD has gotten leaner, which should help. Lakers have 2 bigs other bigs that are already getting minutes in game 1. Big difference from last year already.

Everyone misses games. When teams aren't contenders, those stretches of games missed get longer.

They may be random, but they're still injuries and he has missed significant time almost every season of his career because of them. It's great that he's put in the work to help prevent injury and he's even said he intends to play all 82 this year.

But the numbers are the numbers and until he changes them, it's always going to be a concern with him.
