One day it will all make sense
Start Luka
Bench SGA
Cut Nikola
Stir that pot
Start Luka
Bench SGA
Cut Nikola
Dude… I’ve read your “Luka had more help” bullshit for a few days. Here are his credentials (and - I’m not saying he should or shouldn’t win MVP - these are the credentials);
I’ll leave it at that. but stop with the “he had more help” garbage. It’s a horseshit “argument”.
- 34/9/10
- 1st in points
- 2nd in assists
- 73 point game (4th highest ever)
- First 33/9/9 season in NBA history
- Most 30-PT TD’s since MVP Russ
- 1st in 25-point games
- 1st in 35-point games
- 1st in 40-point games
- 1st in 45-point games
- 2nd in 3’s made
- Top 10 in steals
- 61.7% TS
- Highest scoring season in Mavs history
- Most PPG + RPG + APG since the merger
- Most consecutive 25 point triple-doubles ever
- Most consecutive 30 point triple-doubles ever
- Lifted Mavs from 11 seed to 5 seed
- Most games missed by teammates among all playoff teams
- Mavs 50+ wins
- Mavs 1st in clutch win%
- 6th best record in entire NBA
The Luka had more help thing is not an “argument“, it’s just facts.
Look at this list that Denver trotted out 95% of the year and tell me 1 time this year where Dallas had a lineup anywhere close to this? Can you even do it more than 5 times?
Jokic
Aaron Gordon
Jeff Green
Monte Morris
Will Barton
Luka is having a killer year, and he’s a top 5 player in the league. But the argument that Luka deserves MVP as a 5 seed because Jokic won it as a 6 seed is horribly misguided.
If had those same exact same stats in 2022 and was 5th seed with 50 wins you could argue he deserved it then over Jokic. But we’re in 2024 and the 2 main people he’s competing against don’t have 3 more wins like Embiid and Giannis had in 2022.

SGA is ahead by 5, Jokic by 6. Also 5 and 6 games in the NBA can be as different as being Top 4 seed and missing the playoffs entirely. Just look at the East.Yes 3 and 5 is a massive difference
Because it’s not just about wins, just like it’s not just about stats. It’s almost like it’s a collective and not just 1 decing facfor. If wins are so important why don't we just give the award to Tatum?
No, the point is Luka is carrying his team and you want to diminish it with little nerd interpretations of stats. I'm on to you.Given you’re a simpleton it makes sense why you don’t understand what I said. The point is the competition is tougher for Luka this year than it was for Jokic in 2022 and Luka has more help this year than Jokic had.
You mean the voters, there the ones making the decisions. No, the point is Luka is carrying his team and you want to diminish it with little nerd interpretations of stats. I'm on to you.
In other words - you don’t have a rebuttal beyond “his team finished 5th”…The main problem with Luka this year is he’s the 5th seed in a powerhouse conference. Not his fault but it’s also not enough to award him MVP over 2 other equally great dominating players who have their teams as #1 and #2 in that same conference.
Shai has just as good of an argument, both can be argued over Jokic.Luka deserves it because his team is good and he is putting up ridiculous numbers
In what world doesn't 34/10/9 on 49% shooting doesn't deserve MVP?

No reason for Nikola to finish top 2Shai has just as good of an argument, both can be argued over Jokic.
They decided the race was over when Embiid got hurtAll 3 have a case
The ridiculous part of this is that there is not a debate among voters?
That is insane.
What?2 and 3 games difference.
51 or 52 wins is good enough for mvpBecause it’s not just about wins, just like it’s not just about stats. It’s almost like it’s a collective and not just 1 decing facfor.
Tatum has the wins but not the stats, Luka has the stats but not the wins, SGA and Jokic have both.
At one point earlier in the year I actually thought that Jokic and Embiid might split the big man vote and Shai would have a chance. Once Embiid went down it was like the godfather laid down the law.All 3 have a case

What?
Luka has his team at 50 wins, SGA at 55, and Jokic at 56.
