I hope not. But at least we've got a contingency plan if he has to miss some time. At least defensively. But I'm concerned about missing his on base potential, and the effect it may have on Gallo.

I would rather see Gallo hitting a little lower in the lineup anyway.

I have mixed emotions about that. I believe Bannister & Co were hoping that DDJ would get on base at a good rate and thus Joey would see more fastballs.

To me he would have a better chance coming up with men on base if he had DeShields and Elvis hitting in front of him. Chances would be much better that one of them would be on base if they both batted in front of him than if just one of them batted in front of him. Then there is the whole question about negating DeShields chances of stealing second base if you want him at first to protect Gallo. I tend to think Banny overthought this one.

I think Gallo batting left cane into play but yes a contact guy to me bats second. New age rules

We had bad luck in 2014. Most of the rest of the years we seemed to get the amout of injuries to be expected. Beltre will most likely moss significant time due to his age.

I hate it for him, I hate it for the team, I hate it for the 2018 season. But more importantly, I hate it for next season, b/c I thought this year was going to be a 'experimental season' in that, we would find out about a few players - DDJ being one of em - and how they fit into our long term plans or not.

Yeah I saw it too. Those 'non-contact' injuries always worry me.

Centero is having a horrible inning. Don't know how you give a pitcher a WP when it's a called strike and goes between the legs of the catcher.
