Like I posted last night, Carter is in a better stretch than he has ever been as a pro. It is time to throw out what he used to do versus LH pitching. His defense alone is worth him being in the lineup.

The decision is bad no matter what Grossman does. Bochy might get lucky and get off the hook, but the decision is a bad one.

So when Carter goes in he will likely be batting 3rd. Best case scenario we knock our Framber in 1st inning and he goes in for defense immediately

Or, Framber stays in until the 7th and Grossman bats 3 times and plays defense 6 innings.

This decision gets glossed over in a blow out, but will be magnified in a close game.

The lineup for today players that have been helpless against Valdez this season: Seager and Garcia they were a combined 0 for 10 against him. Grossman went 2 for 7, Lowe 3 for 8, Jung and Heim each went 2 for 5, Taveras went 3 for 7, Garver 2 for 4 and Semien went 4 for 8.

Yes. Carter's defensive range is a plus attribute that Grossman does not have.

Not to mention the guy has been such a sparkplug for this team. Just don't see how you can sit him right now.

I think lefties actually have a higher OPS than righties against Valdez.
