Yeah, that is ridiculous. Then again we still have Miller, Sborz, White and Howard and probably lost a better player than either of the three they lost.

From Jeff Wilson about Heaney:

Heaney would like to be less reliant on the strikeout, though that would still be a big weapon for him. But he wants to be more efficient by getting outs early in counts.

That’s where the Rangers come in.

Heaney piled up 13.62 strikeouts per nine innings last season with a fastball and a slider. He walked only 19 batters in 72 2/3 innings, and his ability to pitch with his fastball will be a nice fit with pitching coach Mike Maddux.

Heaney thinks his changeup could help him get out of innings with fewer pitches and work deeper into games.
So o am quite encouraged to have SP who can strike some guys out and we need that for our closer as well. However being able to pitch to weak contact especially with no men on base would benefit. Good article. Thanks

Well I don’t like losing him either but it may have been worse depending on how things pan out. Don’t know the talent BoSox lost

And yes the deload came back to bite

Honestly, I don't think many of us 'really' wish Joey ill will, do we? But it's painfully obvious Joey isn't going to be the Joey we thought/hoped/expected him to be.

I would have expected you to feel this way, for sure. But I, like you, want no part of Gallo being a member of the Rangers ever, ever again. It will be interesting to see what the marketplace thinks of him.

We’re interested in Conforto

The Rangers, seeking a corner outfielder, are among the clubs interested in free agent Michael Conforto, who also is on the radar of the Mets, Astros and, according to the New York Post, the Marlins.

Conforto, who turns 30 on March 1, did not play at all last season because of a shoulder injury that required surgery. Boras, his agent, told reporters at Brandon Nimmo’s news conference Thursday that the outfielder is seeking a deal that is, “short-term, probably a couple of years with an opt-out.”

His last season he put up 232/.344/.384/.729

No, thank you.

Here's Pipeline's first full 2023 mock draft

if this got posted before, I missed it.

4. Rangers: Paul Skenes, RHP, LSU
The last two years picking this high, the Rangers went with college arms in Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker. Skenes, who transferred from Air Force and got scouts in Louisiana buzzing with his work in fall ball, could make it three in a row with his power repertoire.

Not sure but I might would rather take the Tennessee pitcher

"Toronto could carry Jansen, Gabriel Moreno and Alejandro Kirk on the roster, giving Kirk a number of at-bats as the DH. Moreno can also start the season at Triple-A if the Blue Jays don’t find a deal to their liking."

This is a trade possibility I wouldn't mind seeing.
