Oh I think the same range but signing improves us
In my opinion it is pretty much a push. I do think had we spent the money we just spent on Eovaldi, on a reliever instead, and kept Odorizzi in the rotation, we would be better than what we are right now.

Too early to tell.....if they improve the lineup, it could be that with health.
I think we have a good enough starting staff to get to 85. Then again, I am more optimistic about what Duran and Smith will give us this year than most.

We are deep at SP but being able to keep several guys stretched out could be an issue. There will be games missed by our 5 starters most likely with their injury history. I hope Duran and Smith can provide some more help offensively, as they get another year under their belt and if we dont have to see Brad Miller at all next season I am fine with that

If a starting pitcher other than DeGrom or Perez go down to injury, and Glenn Otto is stretched out in AAA, then I don't expect us to miss a beat when Otto comes up to replace them. If Dunning comes back healthy and he remains stretched out in AAA then I think we can survive two injuries without it becoming a problem.

I wonder how deep into the season we have to go before Owen White becomes the first option? I am thinking late August or September.

Ragans might pass Dunning in the pecking order at some point as well, but that is no guarantee.

The wildcard is Cole Winn. If he has the April and May that we thought he might have last year, he could change the face of the pecking order completely by June.

I wonder if we will hear any mention of Spencer Howard being moved to the bullpen before ST.

Which pitcher stays here the longest?

Perez, Heaney, or Eovaldi

I think Eovaldi stays all 3

The Rangers probably need Perez to walk at the end of the year. There’s going to be some arbitration raises and his $19 million subtracted will help keep them under the luxury tax

Heaney will probably have a good year and OPT out.

Do you change your mind about that if I am right about him?

No, I hope you’re right about him. But not sure the Rangers will be willing to give him the hefty pay day he will surely get.
I think they’ll need his salary to fall off to absorb the arbitration raises

If that is the case then that means they have spent too much money already.

They could always trade Seager or Semien.

Apparently, the Rangers still see relievers the way Jerry used to see linebackers, as if they were a dime a dozen.
