Mark Teahen traded to Reds

The Reds acquired Mark Teahen from the Diamondbacks Tuesday in exchange for cash or a player-to-be-named-later. He batted .211 with five RBI in 22 games for Triple-A Reno.

Teahen is expected to give Cincinnati depth at Triple-A Louisville.

He was a first round pick that has had success in the Majors. Prior to 2010 he was a pretty descent player posting BA's between 0.270- 0.290 with mid-teen HR power.

He's been like the plague since then, teams have dropped him like a hot rock. He was hitting for the same 0.211 as Lutz was at AA.

Maybe 0.211 is Walt's lucky number?

I recommend they find some sleazy bars in Cal City when they head for Chicago. I think there's a slump buster or two there.

As an infrequent visitor to Chic-ago, with most of my time there spent in the "miracle mile" area, I'm sure I have an ultra small sample size, but I always see an incredible number of exquisite young women there. Not many slump busters... best already be on your game there I suspect.

Mark Teahen sent back to Diamondbacks

Less than five days after being acquired from Arizona, the Reds sent infielder Mark Teahen back to the Diamondbacks Friday because of a physical issue, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Teahen, who last appeared in the majors in 2011, will return to Triple-A Reno.

I wonder who examined him to find this problem? Because the Reds medical staff seems inept. C.ouldn't tell if someone had a cold

Didn't reveal the "issue." I honestly thought the transaction was peculiar. Why would the Reds want minor league fodder in exchange for organizational depth?
