We ran into a couple at the NFL on-location pregame party that did this. They came down from Alaska for the game, but ended up selling the tix for $10,000 a piece. I think that they said that they won the tickets in some sort of contest, so all profit...
Yes, I watched those things happen. Unreal.

....I made them ''pink'',......figured my pats would win/added a lil' drama to bet/....*sigh*.
I think the pink is perfect but I also gotta give Peighton his due. He played great in a huge game.
1 more to go for him and I hope he gets it.

Me too, but if I somehow were to win tickets, I'd go before I sold them.

oh no doubt I'd go if I won them.

The only "bowl" I have ever been to was the National Championship Game in Indy with Duke. Awesome trip! Final Four and Championship Game.

A lot of Butler fans were idiots though...

They all come down. You never buy the first wave of tickets to hit. As the game gets closer the ticket prices drop dramatically as these scalpers begin to panic that they are going to be stuck with a $2000 ticket that they paid for.

Is that what the face value is today. When I went back in 90,91 and 92 they were $150

SB is nothing but a ''corporate-event'',......most tix are alotted for both teams/NFL/corporate-sponsors/Networks,.....and a sliver = to US/the pea$ants.

Not sure if that is the face value just depending where the tickets are at in the stadium. My guess is some of the scalpers even buy them on the secondary market in hopes of doubling their money but like I said what we see is as the game gets closer the ticket prices drop dramatically. Usually that Wednesday before the game from what I understand is the best time to buy as you have people eager to sell.

Not currently correct information. Prior to SB49, that was the norm.

I was offered 2500 for my pair before the game in Tampa in 90 and passed, not sure if they were cops or if I would ever go again. It was the year the Persian war was going on ad had to wait in line 3 hrs because of heavy security checks. Great game and unfortunately Norwood shanked the FG and NY beat the Bills. Next 2 years tried selling the tickets and was only offered 600 for the pair so went to both, both were Bills blowouts

If someone was offering me 10x what my tickets are worth I'd sell them in a heart beat. Hell, I'd sell my wife's wedding ring for that kind of deal. No way is it worth it to spend $5000+ just to see the Superbowl in person when you can see it better on TV anyway.

Read the link in post 30.

Interesting read. Now I might not have read it right but pretty much sounded like there is no telling when the best prices will happen as last year looked like the tickets went up the closer you got to the game plus then the whole not knowing if the person you are buying from actually has a ticket or not when they are selling. I'm glad they have worked to try and get rid of some of that as I don't even know what I would do if I thought I had bought tickets and then booked my hotel and flight to then find out whoops don't have a ticket to the game.

To me just think of the entertainment system you can get set up in your house for the price of one ticket. So then you can have a better seat, better view, and can do it for every game from then on compared to paying for that one ticket.
