Nope, but they're getting more and more insane each year. Let's see, go to the Superbowl or buy a new car?

They all come down. You never buy the first wave of tickets to hit. As the game gets closer the ticket prices drop dramatically as these scalpers begin to panic that they are going to be stuck with a $2000 ticket that they paid for.

The most they ever were was in 2004 Eagles/Pat. Upper levels were $3500 each. SB seats may drop a little but they all go. People can't risk flying to San Fran, dropping $1500 on a motel and hope they catch a scalper close to game time.

I would love to go to a Super Bowl but I am not paying those prices. I'll sit on my comfy couch and watch

Last year was higher, and this year will be higher still.

Thankful every SB season for the cold front that was projected to hit NY during SB48. I could afford tickets because of that, and only had to deal with a couple hours of travel to and from the game.

Not last year. Upper corner 400 level started at $2600 and never turned back. I was at the UofP game day with $6000 cash for 2 tix and got laughed at.
No shit. Corner crappy seats went as high as $5000 per seat for Sea vs NE.
Lots of law suits still over the short sale of the scalpers.

Me too, but if I somehow were to win tickets, I'd go before I sold them.

Still waiting for the SB to go Pay -Per -View. :L
It's only a matter of time. Besides, the conference championship games are usually better than the SB.

......I paid $1000/each for two tix pats/ramz sb/2001-02,....a friend of a friend won the pats/lottery back then [season-tix/holder/club-seats?]....they were $400.00/face-value endzone/2nd-tier-up/great seats,......fred smerlas sat infront of mee and my friend,.......tix weren't skyhigh because there was only one week for the SB back then due to 9-11,.......I saw tons of tix being offered for $100/each walking up to the SuperDome entrance right before game-time,...I would never go to a SB without tix unless it was in Foxboro [yeah-right].

I got mine a few years ago for 3000 for the pair. Not bad and am hoping to get the same kind of deal this year. We'll see.

I have a home in Avondale, 8 miles from the stadium. One of my son's buddies that stayed with us paid $2900 x 3, the Sunday night of the NFCCG, sold them for $8000 x 3 1 week before the game. He expected to sell high then buy cheaper before the game but the prices continued up. He watched the game with me and my boy at my place.
Great Super Bowl. 1 team wins, 1 team loses.

We ran into a couple at the NFL on-location pregame party that did this. They came down from Alaska for the game, but ended up selling the tix for $10,000 a piece. I think that they said that they won the tickets in some sort of contest, so all profit...

....east-coast/west coast fan-bases, meeting in the middle [kinda] last year must've made it de$ireable esp. for hawks-fans.........one SB/was enough for mee [pats/ramz].....*airports/planes/search's/dingy-laquinta-motels/getting-drunk/was enough for mee*.
