The problem with an offer sheet is that Tampa could take 7 days to match. Our hands would be tied and anyone we would want would probably already be signed.

The longer this goes the more I'm convince we will be throwing an offer sheet at Stamkos. It's been rumored that Yzerman won't be able to match a high $ sheet. I'm starting to wonder though if Yzerman is just postering at this point.
If he realizes that TB can't afford Stamkos long term without making a big trade. I'm starting to wonder if he has a plan B in Brad Richards who has already stated he would be interested in heading back to Tamp and may be willing to do so at a discount rate.
I may just be reaching here, but I wouldn't be surprsied if Yzerman was looking into making a big trade to get Stamkos signed long term, trying to sign Stamkos himself, attempting to figure out just how much he can spend on Stamkos if an offer sheet comes in, looking at signing Richards & debating just what he could do in the long run with 4x 1st rounders.
Yes gentlemen I am indeed suggesting that Yzerman is a evil mastermind, or at the leats proving to be one hell of a good GM.
These are just random rants from one sleep deprived individual and do not in any way reflect the thoughts or views of the Flyer nation.

i really don't think its going to happen.. i think the flyers brass realizes its too big of a risk to even throw an offer sheet at stamkos, and spend the first 7 days of FA on the sidelines.. let alone what they have to give up for him.. i think as long as the guys in control are divided, which has been said by so many people that it has to be fact, the flyers wont send the offer sheet
