i wish none of them were going. a 3 or 4 day vacation from the game is nice, but the game and surrounding festivities are ridiculous. abreu is right to be hesitant to play in the hr derby for the very reason he states.
if you want REAL all stars then wait until the season is over. THEN pick them based on a whole season of performance. THEN play your all star game at a warm weather site (or a dome) and go nuts with the derby and whatever other silly games you want.
REMOVE the faux meaning recently attached to the game by a clown commish.
and before anyone comes out with "that's what other sports do and the games are meaningless and nobody watches!" well NO SHIT! that's the point! the game IS meaningless .... but at least the player selections are on the books. and who cares if no one watches???
