a bunch of teams seem to have lost a major guy for the season already.
pineida for the yanks just got shelved for 12 months.

we have 6 starters - bedard, burnett, morton, mcdonald, correia, and karstens(assuming a minor injury only) who are pitching well.
we also have lincoln who seems to be getting it this year.

we have some good pen arms and are nicely stocked in minors with pitching.

with such a surplus and depth in the OF, we got to package for a SS like castro who is in AAA right now, or a C in AAA right now who is ready to stud in 13 and beyond. if we can package for a stud who is 25 and already in the majors, then great, but figuring we have to pay cheaper and gamble a little.......

If the Yankees want to give us Austin Romine for a starter then fine. I am typically not in favor of trading a starter this early in the year, but IF Karstens is healthy, then i wouldn't mind to much.

One thing to remember, there are still good pitchers sitting out. The Yankees could go sign Roy Oswalt for the remainder of the season and it would only cost them money.
