Didn't read through this entire thread, but for the Skywire dude, anyone else think this was fake? Either somehow there was a safety net or wire somewhere, or maybe not taped at all and this was a camera trick. I just have a hard time believing someone did this and not only did it, but made it look so easy. Either that wire is as thick as a 4x4 or tight rope walking is easier than most think?

The cable is about 3-4" in diameter and the long pole he uses for balance weighs about 40 lbs. Tight rope walking runs in that family for decades. His grandfather died doing it. I doubt it's faked because I've seen it done at the circus. They may have added some drama to it.

I'm pretty athletic so I figure with very little training I could walk that cable with the pole for balance, but I wouldn't do it over a 1500' deep canyon. That's what separates him from me.

I doubt I could do the 1300 ft length, but I could probably go more than 100 ft just three feet off the ground. That pole gives a lot of balance.
