On paper, this is the best recruiting class UGA has ever had.

Georgia has never really had issues recruiting, but were never a threat for landing the top class before. Smart has been killing it in recruiting both of his full classes, and even in 2016, he managed to maintain most of a solid class after Richt was fired.

But before this season, Georgia had never got more than 3 five stars in a single class.

Smart has made it a n emphasis from day one to lock down in state talent. You'll never keep em all, but he's made good on his word and getting a lot of recruits that would have been Bama commits not too long ago.

They will all be arrested by next Christmas or UGA will be put on probation. Either is fine with me.

Impressive. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Very few programs have been able to pull in these classes and not go on probation. But it has been done.

Good recruiting, but mostly - a good year for in state talent for Georgia as 4 of those 5 stars are from Georgia.

Meanwhile, I don't think Alabama has a single in state 5 star.

4 of the 5 stars are from Georgia.

Zamir White is from North Carolina, and Georgia has a good reputation among running backs, and Todd Gurley was an NC kid too.

Cade Mays is from Tennessee, and if not for Tennessee's coaching debacle, he would have been a Vol.

SC didn't have one either. We got the #1 guy and he's a 4*. It's all good though. These rankings are a good guideline, but in now way do they absolutely predict potential. Hunter Fucking Renfro was a walk on. Ben Boulware was a 2 or 3 star. I think Kelly Bryant was a 3 star. Anyway, it's fun to track all these guys and their ratings, but development is the key.

Levi Wallace is a former walk-on for us as well. Mark Ingram was a 3 star. Levi is probably more impressive in terms of being a starter, consider all the 5 stars he's having to beat out.

But don't tell @TrustMeIamRight development matters, he thinks all you need to do is load up on 5 stars and the rest is easy.

Iowa almost has 6 five-stars. How long have they been giving HS recruits star ratings? Iowa might have 6 in there.

So who is your recruiting rainmakers? I want someone to covet when openings arise at Texas.

Dell McGee and OL COach Sam Pittman are the top two ranked recruiters in the country on 247. We ain't your Big 12 patsies though. We got money too.
