For the second time in four years the Denver Broncos' ongoing postseason drought has cost the head coach his job.

The Broncos, after a 7-10 finish, fired Vic Fangio on Sunday as they missed the playoffs for the sixth consecutive season.

Would imagine Fangio has plenty of DC offers out there if he wants them. Say what you will about him as a HC, but his defenses have made a mark in the NFL beyond his own clubs.

Probably. I can't say he's really wrong though.

Even Carr very easily outclasses all the Denver QB's since Manning. It obviously only gets worse with Mahomes and Herbert entering the division.

Yeah, but at some point you're accountable for not having a QB at all. The Drew Lock pick was bad from jump street. I thought maybe I was just biased against him as a KU guy, but nah, I was right about him.

No doubt. Elway in all truth hasn't been all that good for the Donkos imo, and I think a good chunk of this falls on him...

I bet you'd find countless teams who would take 2 SB appearences with 1 win in the last decade so I don't think that's true at all. A lot of the blame is rightfully deserved(which is why he stepped down as GM) but he also doesn't get the credit he deserves for taking over the Broncos after the horrible McDaniels situation and turning them into an instant powerhouse right away. If Elway wasn't in charge Manning never would've come to Denver.

They're really gun shy in the draft when it comes to QB. They just seem to draft BPA non QB and expect backup QBs to get them to the playoffs.

Fair enough. A decade is forever but I still think the Broncos job is a coaching graveyard until they get a top 15 QB.

I bet Fangio could land on the Vikings and they'd win 11 games next year

Not wrong. But being a bad QB evaluator is not exactly a great flaw to have, to say the least.

Yup. Take your Lumps. You won one. Everyone complains , but its so hard to win. Every organization will take 3-4 down years for a superbowl, all of them. Fans are nuts. So hard to consistently win much less win superbowls. Ive always said, take your shot. Like the rams are. If you have a shot go for it, bc often, you just arent good enough.
