The Steelers weren't drafting a QB this year anyway as they have been using the "we still believe in Pickett" who has only had one actual game played not under a god awful Matt Canada offense.
Pickett has a long time qb vet to teach him finally.

Better than wasting an early pick on Justin Fields and better than Mitch. So in that sense it is a win.
Other than that if the line isn't up to par really doesn't matter.
You need to go get C Morse.

Different system, a different coach, a different atmosphere, a better WR core, a decent run game, and a TE that could catch
Look what a bad Manning did with that in Denver.

Dont pay that guy much mind. He’s a homer so his opinion is determined based on that and not his ability to actually assess sports. Who knows what Russ will be for Pittsburgh. They can draft a young QB and develop him while Russ plays a year or two as a stop gap on someone else’s dime. This is a plus situation for the Steelers.
I agree. Honestly everyone is entitled to their opinions and trust me I don't think Wilson is great anymore but the fit works. They need a QB and can't afford the top tier. Also, Tomlin is already in love with him since he essentially destroyed the Steelers/Tomlin both times he faced them.

Interesting tidbit his TD/INT ratio against AFC North teams:

Not including the Steelers: 8 Games Played: 15/2
Including the Steelers: 10 Games played: 23/2 :D

And yet, if you look at the numbers, the Steelers were the 25th ranked offense while Denver was the 26th in total Offense. Steelers were 13th in rushing, Denver was 18th. And Denver was 24th in passing and Steelers were 25th.

This is a low risk signing for Pittsburgh and I don’t blame them for taking the chance, the only thing it does is it further delays them finding their next quarterback of the future by a year maybe longer.
I don't think it's delaying anything. They weren't going to use a premium pick on a QB this year anyway. And none of the FA QB's are gonna be the 'Quarterback of the Future', either. It's a 1-year deal, and he's free.

If he plays well, then maybe they can roll with him a few years. If he sucks, then they can look to the draft.

The Steelers are not expected to be competing for a title next year anyway.

Bottom 10 by whic measure? Rating he was top 10. QBR he was 21st (sacks knocked him down considerably) and Y/A was 21st. Completion % he was 12th, 25th most INT, 9th in passing TDs, 10th in INT%, 4th in TD%, 14th in rushing yards, tied for 11th in rushing TDs, etc etc.
QBR and PFF?

I'm not a fan of that advanced statistics stuff anyway.

This is interesting - the Steelers must have no confidence in Kenny Pickett. Russ has looked mediocre and washed up the last 2 years, and I don’t expect him to improve much, especially with Arthur Smith calling the plays plus the Steelers O-Line is just middle of the road at best and they don’t have much at receiver other than Pickens.

Let me guess your height. 5'6 and 1/2 but you tell people you're 5'7.
His combine height was 5'11".

He's short, but he isn't that short.

The Steelers went from having the 4th best QB in the division to still having the 4th best QB in the division.
You could argue all of the NFL QB's available, this would still hold true.
